  • This is a unique opportunity to live our purpose every day and make a meaningful impact through your work
  • You’ll be managing a portfolio of SME business customers and collaborating with your team to deliver an outstanding service for them
  • We’ll also support you to achieve a Certificate in Lending Skills, an industry recognised qualification that will enhance your credibility and bring a competitive edge to your career profile

  • Your time will be split between client meetings at their premises, collaborating with colleagues in the office, minimum two days a week, or as required, with the remainder working remotely

What you'll do

As a Regional Relationship Manager, you’ll harness your passion for exceptional customer service to champion the business ambitions and financial needs of a portfolio of SME business banking customers.

And through our omni-channel contact model, you’ll maintain regular contact and provide outstanding support and advice in a way that’s convenient for them – primarily in face-to-face meetings, over the phone, on a video call or via email, but also through our digital channels too.

Day to day, you’ll be:

  • Completing risk assessments to deliver informed credit decisions
  • Preparing accurate reports to support credit applications
  • Adopting and sharing best practise to achieve KPIs, including financial and non-financial metrics
  • Undertaking analysis, research and practical support to enhance our service proposition
  • Studying towards your certificate in Lending Skills

The skills you'll need

To thrive in your role as a Regional Relationship Manager, you’ll need the ability to develop positive customer relationships through credibility, trust, and an unwavering focus on doing the right thing.

You’ll also bring:

  • Good communication skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Great organisational skills, particularly your ability to flex to meet changing priorities
  • Experience of delivering and achieving KPIs
  • A genuine interest in the SME market and how we support our SME customers
  • An established intermediary network across Elgin and Inverness region, supported by a strong track record in business development

What else you need to know

Achieving a Certificate in Lending Skills is just one of the ways we’ll help you to thrive in your role.

A Certificate in Lending Skills is a professional qualification awarded by the Chartered Institute of Bankers that’s widely recognised across our industry, and designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills relating to the commercial lending environment in our digital age.

With 18 months to complete your studies, you’ll have the ability to tailor a journey to your own individual learning needs too, which will combine self-study in the form of workbooks and e-learning, and workshops.

We want to champion climate solutions with financing and entrepreneurial support, fully embed climate into our culture and decision making, and be climate positive by 2025.

We’re committed to using our purpose to break down barriers, drive change and ultimately create a great place to work.
