Location: Moss, Norway (other ROCKWOOL locations in Nordics can be discussed) | Travel: Approx. 30 days per year (to other factories, and ROCKWOOL Headquarters)

The role

As Regional Purchaser, you serve as the commercial anchor for our production facility in Moss while providing purchasing support for CAPEX initiatives across the Nordic region. Your primary mandate is to ensure operational stability through secure supply and to drive value in regional investment projects by supporting regional stakeholders.

Key deliverables & responsibilities

Success in this role is defined by the following annual objectives:

1. Operational Supply & Reliability (Moss Factory)

  • Supply Security: Maintain high availability of critical maintenance spare parts, ensuring that procurement-related issues do not lead to production downtime.
  • Inventory Optimization: Lead an annual review of the maintenance warehouse to identify obsolete stock and implement improvement measures in coordination with technical management.
  • Emergency Protocol: Standardize the handling of "Emergency Orders" to ensure full documentation, justification, and subsequent process improvements to minimize recurrence.

2. CAPEX & Project Execution (Nordics)

  • Commercial Leadership: Collaborate on end-to-end commercial processes for prioritized Nordic CAPEX projects and supporting in contracts meeting Group legal standards and commercial benchmarks.
  • Analytic Support: Deliver comparative price bids and cost-benefit analyses for significant investments to ensure management decisions are based on objective data.
  • Supplier Performance: Conduct structured evaluations of key project suppliers, focusing on delivery precision, quality, and total cost of ownership (TCO).

3. Strategic Alignment & Compliance

  • Cost Management: Proactively identify and realize measurable cost savings and cost avoidance in line with regional GSP business plans.
  • Contract Adherence: Actively increase the usage of GSP frame agreements in daily operations to reduce "Maverick Spending."
  • KPI Reporting: Analyze monthly status updates on purchasing performance, proactively seeking opportunities for improvement.

Who you are

We are looking for a professional who balances technical understanding with commercial discipline;

  • Education: B.Sc. or equivalent in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Logistics.
  • Experience: 5–10 years of solid experience in technical procurement, supply chain, or CAPEX project management within an industrial environment.
  • Skills: Proven ability in contract management and negotiation, including the ability to make balanced trade-offs under pressure.
  • Technical Mindset: Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and maintenance stakeholders on all levels to translate technical requirements into commercial outcomes.
  • Communication: Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language is required.
  • Attributes: Proactive, results-oriented, and resilient in a fast-changing matrix organization. A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Fluency in a Scandinavian language (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish) required, as well as business English.
