About the Opportunity
We are assisting our client in hiring a Product Marketing Officer to support their growing international business.
Our client is a Hong Kong-based manufacturer and technology company specializing in industrial networking and optical communication equipment, serving customers across global markets. This role will be based in Malaysia and primarily support the company's Hong Kong operations, working closely with overseas sales and cross-functional teams.
The Product Marketing Officer will be responsible for developing product marketing content, supporting digital marketing initiatives, maintaining product information, assisting overseas sales teams, and coordinating exhibition activities. The role plays an important part in strengthening the company's global brand presence, ensuring consistent product messaging, and supporting business growth across international markets.
Location: Malaysia (Remote / Work From Home)
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: RM5,300 – RM7,500 (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Marketing & Content Development
- Develop and maintain product catalogues, datasheets, technical specifications, operation manuals, presentations, and other marketing collateral.
- Create engaging product content, including product highlights, application use cases, website copy, and customer success stories.
- Organize and maintain product images, technical diagrams, videos, and other marketing assets.
- Liaise with factories and internal teams to ensure product information remains accurate, consistent, and up to date.
2. Digital Marketing & Website Management
- Support digital marketing activities, including EDM campaigns, LinkedIn, and other online promotional initiatives.
- Maintain and update website content to ensure product information is current and well-structured.
- Assist with basic SEO and SEM activities to improve online visibility.
- Develop social media content, product announcements, and video scripts to enhance brand awareness.
3. Product & Customer Database Management
- Maintain and update customer information within the ERP and marketing databases.
- Manage and maintain product information in the ERP system.
- Support marketing initiatives that generate overseas inquiries and improve lead quality.
- Ensure all customer and product data is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
4. Overseas Sales Support
- Provide overseas sales teams with product information, marketing materials, technical documentation, and product images in a timely manner.
- Prepare product comparison sheets and recommendation materials for customer presentations.
- Coordinate with overseas distributors and agents to support marketing activities and promotional campaigns.
5. Exhibition & Event Support
- Assist in planning exhibitions, trade shows, and product display activities.
- Design exhibition materials, including posters, brochures, display cards, and promotional materials.
- Prepare presentation decks and product demonstration materials.
- Consolidate visitor information after exhibitions and update marketing resources accordingly.
6. Market & Competitor Research
- Monitor industry trends, customer applications, and market developments.
- Conduct market research to support overseas business expansion.
- Collect and analyse competitors' products, pricing, specifications, and market positioning.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Factory teams to ensure consistent product messaging and branding.
- Maintain a centralized cloud-based marketing resource library to ensure the Sales team has access to the latest marketing materials.
- Support the development of standardized processes for product updates and marketing material requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 2–5 years of experience in product marketing, B2B marketing, technical marketing, or a related field.
- Experience creating product marketing materials, catalogues, presentations, and digital content.
- Familiarity with website content management, social media marketing, and basic SEO is an advantage.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote working environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across different departments and regions.
Language Requirements
- Proficient in both Mandarin and English (spoken and written).
- Able to read and write both Chinese and English.
- The ability to speak Cantonese is an added advantage.
