Job Description

The Regional Product Manager, Fire Portfolio is responsible for managing the Fire Protection product portfolio across the Americas, driving lifecycle strategy, portfolio optimization, and profitable growth. This role leads new product development and commercialization efforts, develops product roadmaps, and identifies opportunities to enhance market competitiveness and customer value.

Working closely with R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, and Sales, the Regional Product Manager ensures successful product launches, portfolio performance, and business results. The role combines strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, and market insight to deliver innovation, increase profitability, and support long-term growth objectives.

Additional Information:

This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44113, and will have at least 30% travel.

Portfolio Lifecycle Management

  • Manage products through all stages of the lifecycle, from ideation to retirement.

  • Identify portfolio gaps and prioritize investment opportunities.

  • Develop portfolio roadmaps

  • Lead SKU rationalization and product portfolio optimization initiatives.

  • Create Regional Product Lists with SKU detail and cost and pricing guidance

  • Monitor product performance and profitability.

  • Establish product positioning and value propositions.

  • Manage Part Numbers, Packaging, and Labelling for Portfolio

New Product Development and Commercialization

  • Lead product development initiatives through the stage-gate process.

  • Coordinate successful commercialization of new technologies and product enhancements.

  • Develop business cases for new products and portfolio investments.

  • Partner with R&D to define development priorities and specifications.

  • Coordinate product testing, certification, and regulatory approval activities.

  • Work with R&D to deliver technical documents including data sheets and technical documents for launch

  • Coordinate field trial activities and work with Marcomm to capture photo and video records

  • Lead launch planning and post-launch performance reviews.

  • Monitor adoption rates and customer feedback following launch.

Cross Functional Leadership and Business Performance

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure product availability and service levels.

  • Partner with Procurement regarding raw material risks and sourcing strategies.

  • Participate in portfolio reviews and business planning processes.

  • Track revenue, margin, market share, and portfolio profitability metrics.

  • Prepare executive-level performance updates and recommendations.

Additional Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of UL 1709, ASTM E119, EN 13381, ISO standards, and regional fire protection regulations.

  • Understanding of fire protection engineering and specification selling.

  • Product portfolio management principles.

  • Market analysis and business case development.

  • Product lifecycle management.

  • Financial analysis and profitability assessment.

  • Microsoft Office and business intelligence tools.

  • Knowledge of hydrocarbon and cellulosic fire protection technologies.

  • Experience with global certification processes and fire testing standards.

  • Experience in multinational or matrix organizations

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and product launches.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.)
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted drivers license.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Business, or Marketing.
  • Must have seven (7) years of experience in research and development, project management, product management, portfolio management, marketing, technical services, or business development.
  • Must be willing to travel as required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a master’s degree or higher in business administration.
  • Professional certifications related to Product Management, Project Management, or Fire Protection.
  • Experience within coatings, construction materials, industrial products, specialty chemicals, or passive fire protection.
