About the Role

Our client is an established international engineering company operating within the building systems and technical services sector. The company is seeking an experienced Regional Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities in Thailand while working closely with regional stakeholders, overseas suppliers, factories and service providers across Asia.

This is a hands-on management role suited to an experienced procurement professional who combines strategic sourcing capability with practical execution. The position manages a small local team and will remain directly involved in supplier selection, commercial negotiations, sourcing, cost improvement, logistics coordination and supplier performance.

Candidates from elevator and escalator, HVAC, MEP, building systems, construction, infrastructure, industrial equipment, or other project-driven engineering environments are particularly relevant.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities for Thailand across local and overseas suppliers.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity.
• Manage supplier selection, RFQs, tenders, commercial negotiations, and contractual discussions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and regional stakeholders.
• Coordinate with overseas factories and suppliers, including partners in China and Southeast Asia.
• Drive cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and procurement efficiency initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Support logistics, import/export, and material-flow requirements related to procurement activities.
• Resolve supplier issues involving pricing, quality, delivery, quantity, claims, and commercial matters.
• Identify procurement and supply risks and implement appropriate mitigation actions.
• Prepare procurement KPIs, cost-saving progress, and management reports.
• Lead, coach, and support the local purchasing team while remaining personally involved in day-to-day procurement execution.

This scope closely reflects the incumbent's actual ownership of sourcing, purchasing, logistics, import/export, supplier management, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and regional collaboration.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Procurement or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant procurement, purchasing, or strategic sourcing experience
• Current or previous experience at Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Strategic Sourcing Manager, Commodity Manager or similar level
• Strong hands-on experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation, cost management and supplier performance.
• Experience working within engineering, construction, building systems, technical services, or other project-driven industries
• Elevator/escalator experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Exposure to international suppliers, overseas sourcing, and regional procurement environments.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to balance cost, quality, delivery, and operational risk.
• Comfortable managing a small team while remaining directly involved in execution.
• Good spoken and written English for communication with international suppliers and regional stakeholders.
