Working Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30AM- until work is completed
Facilities Covered: Cabarrus County Jail, Gaston County Jail, and Guilford County Jail
The Distributor is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the facility's commissary distribution and ensuring a high level of customer service in a secure environment. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, this position plays a key role in maintaining efficient operations, supporting facility staff, and ensuring inmates receive products and services in a timely and professional manner.
Acknowledgement: No inmate communication outside of the day-to-day operations. All communication traffic is monitored and recorded through our software, and any other third-party software the facility chooses to use. Any communication without management knowledge is grounds for termination.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate, prepare, and distribute commissary orders according to established schedules and operational standards.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure timely delivery of products to inmate populations.
- Report refunds, credits, and adjustments related to shortages, damaged products, or order discrepancies.
- Report equipment issues requiring advanced repair to the Site Manager and assist with service coordination if needed.
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of inventory, sales transactions, refunds, and equipment status.
- Assist with maintaining clean, organized, and secure work areas, ensuring proper handling and storage of company products and equipment.
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with facility personnel, demonstrating excellent customer service and responsiveness.
- Work safely and effectively within a correctional environment while maintaining compliance with all security requirements, facility regulations, and company policies.
- Assist the Site Manager with operational tasks, audits, inventory counts, and special projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following established procedures.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with inmates, facility staff, and
company personnel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in a correctional environment.
- Basic proficiency with computers, mobile devices, and technology platforms.
