The Opportunity:

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, translate, and analyze foreign-language media, social media, and open-source reporting to identify emerging narratives, trends, risks, and opportunities affecting U.S. interests and mission objectives.

  • Conduct regional media analysis across traditional, digital, and social media platforms, providing contextual assessments of political, military, economic, social, cultural, and religious developments.

  • Produce media assessments, sentiment analyses, executive summaries, and reporting products that inform planning, decision-making, and communication strategies.

  • Advise planners, communicators, and senior leaders on regional information environments, audience perceptions, influential voices, and media dynamics impacting operational objectives.

  • Identify and assess key influencers, journalists, commentators, academics, bloggers, and other opinion leaders shaping regional discourse and public perception.

  • Support Public Affairs, Media Operations, Information Operations (IO), and Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) activities by providing culturally informed analysis and language expertise.

  • Translate and review foreign-language media content, reports, social media posts, messaging, and communication products while preserving context, tone, and intent.

  • Provide timely recommendations regarding regional narratives, messaging considerations, emerging issues, and information environment trends affecting mission success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience supporting regional analysis, media analysis, foreign affairs, strategic communications, intelligence, journalism, or related mission areas.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one priority foreign language and experience translating, analyzing, and reporting on foreign-language media and open-source information.

  • Experience conducting political, military, economic, social, and cultural analysis of regions, countries, audiences, and information environments.

  • Proven ability to develop analytical reports, media assessments, executive briefings, and decision-support products for senior leaders and stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in International Relations, Regional Studies, Strategic Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Intelligence Studies, or a related field.

  • Experience supporting Combatant Commands, Joint Task Forces, Intelligence Community organizations, Public Affairs, or Media Operations activities.

  • Demonstrated experience integrating regional media analysis with Information Operations (IO), Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), audience analysis, influence activities, or strategic competition initiatives.

Pay Range

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$65,000 - $136,500
