Job Description

Our Global Structure

Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team.

The Team

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the centre of Deliveroo’s marketplace—shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data-led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brand—this is the team for you.

The Role

Reporting to the Regional Director, the Regional Manager is a core member of the North England Leadership Team and the UKI Extended Leadership Team. This is a senior commercial leadership role with full accountability for the regional P&L and market share position. You will set the strategic direction, inspire high performance, and lead with autonomy and accountability to deliver ambitious growth targets. You will own the development and execution of both the regional strategy and operational plan, driving sustainable growth across key metrics. Success requires balancing all three sides of our marketplace — Merchants, Riders and Consumers — while ensuring resources are deployed in the most strategically important geographies. You will operate as the voice of your region, influencing central strategy through hyperlocal insight, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure initiatives are executed with excellence.

How You’ll Lead

You will be accountable for creating a culture in which people thrive, as part of that you will be expected too;

  • Set clear priorities and define success metrics so your team understands what “good” looks like
  • Delegate ownership of outcomes (not just tasks), empowering your team to make decisions with accountability
  • Provide continuous, actionable feedback and coaching to support performance and growth
  • Remove blockers and proactively navigate cross-functional challenges to enable team success
  • Foster an inclusive, high-trust environment where individuals feel safe to take ownership and raise issues

What You’ll Own

Regional Strategy & P&L

  • Develop and execute a clear regional strategy aligned to UKI priorities and translate this into clear priorities and success metrics for your team
  • Own and deliver full regional P&L performance, including top and bottom line targets
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate growth and address performance gaps with pace

Commercial Leadership

  • Direct accountability for the mid-market restaurant portfolio within your region
  • Lead, recruit and retain a team of ~8–10 across City Management and Account Management, building a culture of ownership, accountability and high performance
  • Drive high-quality partnership management to unlock mutual growth with strategic restaurant partners
  • Support complex commercial negotiations to secure best-in-class selection and commercial terms

Marketplace Optimisation

  • Balance the needs of Merchants, Riders and Consumers to drive sustainable marketplace health
  • Ensure centrally developed initiatives are translated into high-quality regional execution
  • Partner closely with Operations, Marketing and other central teams (S&O, NV, Other Restaurant segment teams) to maximise regional outcomes, proactively resolving cross-functional trade-offs and removing blockers for your team

Leadership & Capability

  • Set the performance standard for the region, fostering a culture of ownership and operational excellence
  • Coach and develop your team through continuous, actionable feedback and in-the-moment coaching to strengthen capability and succession
  • Proactively manage performance, addressing challenges directly and constructively
  • Share best practice across the Regional Manager cohort to raise the bar nationally
  • Lead the execution of regional programmes to ensure we’re delivering the company goals and accelerating our position in the market.
  • If based in a regional office, you will be accountable for some elements of the office management.

External Representation

  • Act as Deliveroo’s senior commercial representative in your region
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with influential restaurant operators and industry stakeholders in your region - this could include Restaurant owners, franchisees, industry influencers etc.
  • Leverage hyperlocal market insight to inform both regional execution and central strategy

Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years commercial management and leadership experience working in client facing / vendor management roles with P&L ownership
  • Experience of proactively exploring and executing new ideas, driving work forward and maintaining organisation across multiple deliverables
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams (5+ direct/indirect reports)
  • Strong strategic capability, with the ability to move seamlessly between high-level direction and operational detail
  • Highly analytical, able to translate data and insight into decisive action
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Demonstrated experience in complex commercial negotiations, including senior stakeholder engagement
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence a wide range of audiences — from independent operators to C-suite stakeholders
  • Strong prioritisation skills and resilience in a high-growth environment

Other Requirements

  • Required to be in field within the region frequently (c.2 days per week)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required
