SOUTHERN MECHANICAL is seeking a hands-on Regional Manager, TN/NC/SC to lead and scale operations across its HVAC and Plumbing disciplines in TN/NC/SC regional area This role requires a leader who canoperate strategically whileremaining actively engaged in day-to-day execution—someone who can drive operational excellence, strengthen customer relationships, develop teams, and support continued growth across the business.
The Regional Manager will oversee operational performance, project execution, financial results, safety, workforce development, and customer satisfaction across a growing portfolio of commercial projects. This leader must be equally comfortable in executive discussions, customer meetings, project reviews, field visits, and mentoring operational leaders and project teams.
Equally important, this role will serve as a visible leader both internally and externally, building trusted relationships with customers, vendors, general contractors, developers, and industry partners. The ideal candidate understands that operational success, customer confidence, and employee engagement are all interconnected drivers of long-term growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day operations across commercial electrical, security, and structured cabling projects throughout regional markets
- Drive operational consistency, accountability, project execution, and profitability across all phases of work
- Partner closely with project managers, estimators, field leaders, customers, and support teams to ensure successful project outcomes
- Operate with a hands-on leadership style, stepping into operational challenges, and helping teams solve issues in real time
- Participate in pre-construction meetings, project reviews, operational planning sessions, and strategic business discussions
- Evaluate operational processes and implement improvements that drive efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction
- Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, property owners, facility managers, and strategic customers
- Serve as a visible and trusted operational partner by driving responsiveness, accountability, and consistent execution
- Partner with customers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure expectations, schedules, budgets, and quality standards are achieved
- Resolve customer concerns, project challenges, warranty issues, and operational obstacles quickly and professionally
- Support business growth by strengthening existing customer relationships and identifying opportunities for expanded services
- Project & Financial Management
- Oversee estimating, project management, contract administration, change order management, procurement, and project closeout activities
- Review plans, specifications, budgets, schedules, and pricing strategies to support successful project execution
- Develop and manage operational budgets, forecasting, labor planning, productivity expectations, and reporting metrics
- Analyze project performance, revenue trends, profitability, backlog, and operational projections
- Ensure effective utilization of labor, equipment, and resources across all business segments
- Report operational performance directly to executive leadership and key stakeholders
- Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, NEC requirements, local building codes, customer specifications, and industry best practices
- Support and reinforce GME's commitment to being "Your Safe Contractor Choice"
- Ensure customer concerns, production challenges, quality issues, and safety matters are addressed promptly and effectively
- Maintain awareness of changing regulations, technologies, and industry standards
- Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing operational leaders, project managers, estimators, and field personnel
- Build strong alignment between operations, estimating, project management, field execution, and business development
- Lead by example through visibility, responsiveness, coaching, and accountability
- Foster a culture focused on teamwork, professional development, customer service, and operational excellence
- Partner closely with APS leadership and fellow operating company leaders to support company growth initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within multi-family mechanical (HVAC & Plumbing) construction operations
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and operational functions simultaneously
- Strong customer-facing leadership experience with a track record of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
- Deep understanding of estimating, project execution, change management, budgeting, forecasting, labor planning, and operational controls
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational involvement
- Strong knowledge of code requirements, OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and overall construction operations
- Experience reviewing plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and operational reporting
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and construction management platforms
- Experience with design-build project delivery preferred
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to successfully pass a background check
