Job Description

The Regional Maintenance Manager is a key member of the corporate support team. Reporting to the VP of Maintenance & Procurement, the Regional Maintenance Manager designs and manages processes to effectively support company equipment goals, including those regarding compliance, cost & efficiency. This position is also responsible for aligning resources with fleet, heavy equipment & facility activity to achieve short-term goals and long-term strategies. The Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for data tracking & measurement, trend & root-cause analysis, as well as personnel training, development, feedback and accountability, and management. This position plays a key role in planning and implementing processes and approaches that improve fleet, heavy equipment and facility compliance in order to successfully pass all audits and inspections

  • Implement KPI’s and tracking processes to measure and report facility performance with regards to maintenance for Fleet, MRF & Heavy Equipment.

  • Partner Effectively with Fleet & MRF Maintenance Managers, on the company’s goals and KPI’s.

  • Ensure compliance and adherence to all inventory systems and processes.

  • Conduct regular inspections of maintenance shops, and partner effectively with facility leadership on any resulting improvement plans.

  • Develop, implement and maintain oversite of Preventive Maintenance programs at each facility.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance programs including, but not limited to: tires, hoses, parts, fuel purchasing/dispensing/reconciliation/reporting, and housekeeping.

  • Create and maintain a regular visitation schedule to maintain relationships with facility leadership and track status of company maintenance systems and processes, action plans, and processes for which this role has responsibility or inputProvide prompt and thorough input and feedback to facility leadership on any concerns regarding status of the above.

  • Evaluate fleet and heavy equipment compliance with laws, regulations and policies, and develop and implement strategies & tactics to ensure we maintain audit-readiness.

  • Become early adopter of new technologies & provide training in the field at site locations. Regularly review internal and external truck repairs & PM’s to ensure consistently high quality work expectations are met.

  • Create processes to minimize extended out of service incidences for fleet & heavy equipment vehicles.

  • Assist in creating and implementing SOPs and maintenance standards.

  • Maintain familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, DOT, FMCSA CARB, and EPA and provide immediate feedback and recommendations to leadership on any risks regarding non-compliance.

  • Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.

  • Provide guidance and training to Fleet & MRF Maintenance Managers on required standards and best maintenance practices.

  • Create an effective fleet & heavy equipment product evaluation process.

  • Review maintenance records for each facility.

  • Support a culture of safety, regulatory and corporate compliance and training; ensure the regular review of safety policies and SOPs with maintenance personnel.

  • Investigate and report on all departmental maintenance related incidents/non-conformances, overdue inspections, missed deadlines, negative CSA scores, accidents, property damage, equipment violations or breakdowns, re-work &FMCSA compliance.

  • Provide answers and responses to questions and concerns on DOT regulations, including conducting research, as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience must include a demonstrated and successful track record of supporting effective shop operations and meeting fleet maintenance performance goals.

  • Experience must include shop management or fleet management for commercial vehicles.

  • Must be technically astute with commercial vehicles systems and technology

  • To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience

  • The candidate must be highly proficient in fleet or heavy equipment maintenance and shop operations

  • Experience managing fleet maintenance programs

  • Knowledge of heavy-truck or automotive mechanical and electrical systems

  • Vendor management and purchasing systems experience is a plus.

  • Bachelor degree is preferred, but not required

  • An extensive background as a mechanic, shop supervisor or fleet manager with three or more years of hands-on experience is preferred.

  • Entrepreneurial or start-up experience is a plus.

Salary $121,00 - $181,000
