The Regional Loss Prevention (LP) Manager plays a critical role in protecting Guitar Center’s people, property, and profits by implementing and executing strategic loss prevention, safety, and investigative programs across multiple retail locations. This leader is responsible for delivering measurable shrink reduction, operational compliance, and cultural adoption of LP standards while actively partnering with Field Leadership to build a secure, safety-first retail environment.

This position directly supports the field by identifying risk, leading investigations, training teams, and ensuring every store operates with integrity and consistency. As an internal-facing role, it serves as a key bridge between corporate loss prevention strategy and field execution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Shrink Reduction & Operational Compliance

  • Lead regional shrink performance management and reduction strategies; analyze KPIs to proactively identify and address loss trends.
  • Conduct operational and LP compliance audits in accordance with company policy and federal/state laws.
  • Partner with Regional and District Managers to implement corrective action plans in high-shrink or non-compliant locations.
  • Monitor inventory-related exceptions and discrepancies through data reporting tools; investigate root causes and coach store teams accordingly.
  • Ensure adherence to company cash handling, alarm, access control, and physical security standards.

Investigations and Case Resolution

  • Conduct and manage internal theft, fraud, and policy violation investigations using CCTV, POS data, exception reporting, and case management systems.
  • Collaborate closely with HR and Legal on interviews, case documentation, and associate relations matters.
  • Coordinate and support external investigations in partnership with law enforcement when necessary.
  • Maintain proper documentation and chain-of-custody practices to ensure legal compliance and confidentiality.

Safety & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure a safe working and shopping environment by supporting OSHA compliance, emergency preparedness, and incident reporting protocols.
  • Identify and respond to workplace safety hazards or incidents; lead root cause analyses and drive corrective actions.
  • Participate in store walkthroughs to assess environmental and equipment safety compliance.
  • Serve as the point of contact for workers’ compensation-related incidents in conjunction with HR and Risk Management.

Field Training & Partnership

  • Train store and field leaders on loss prevention practices, safety procedures, and policy adherence.
  • Deliver tailored coaching based on regional shrink drivers, audit findings, and incident trends.
  • Champion awareness campaigns and reinforce LP accountability through regular communication and field engagement.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to Store Managers, District Managers, and Regional Leadership

Culture & Leadership

  • Model ethical behavior and integrity in all interactions; serve as a cultural ambassador of Guitar Center’s values.
  • Influence a proactive, prevention-first mindset throughout the field by fostering trust, transparency, and consistent follow-through.
  • Partner with Store Operations and HR to ensure LP practices are embedded into onboarding, coaching, and performance management frameworks.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in a multi-unit retail Loss Prevention or Asset Protection leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field
  • Demonstrated success conducting investigations and interviews (WZ Certification preferred)
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory controls, POS exception reporting, and physical security systems
  • Proficient with audit practices, safety regulations (OSHA), and case management tools
  • Experience in specialty retail or music retail
  • Familiarity with EAS, CCTV, intrusion systems, and digital reporting tools (e.g., 3Si, ThinkLP, APIS)
