We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Singapore.

Job Purpose:

  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing advice, support and guidance to all Business Units on insurance-related matters.
  • Manage the renewal of non-life Insurance programmes, whether placed locally or centrally, within a group placement for all divisions, subsidiaries and associated companies.
  • Contributes to the protection of DHL’s balance sheet, the achievement of DHL’s commercial objectives in alignment with the IRM global insurance strategy.

Your tasks:

  • Execute non-life insurance renewal processes including the communication of budget advice, alignment with the Global Insurance Job Family on timelines, exposure data collection (revenues, insured values, fleet & head counts etc.) and validation, preparation of renewal submissions, offer & acceptance process, premium invoicing and collection and evidencing of cover.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records of all insurance programmes in APAC
  • Manage the delivery of global insurance programmes and mandatory locally procured coverage, including renewals, exposure data collection and timely submission of information to Insurance & Risk Management leadership
  • Responsible for maximising the Global Insurance Job Family’s internal market share covering all entities within the territory. Identifies any entity that is ‘off programme’ and aligns plans for inclusion in global programmes or agrees on local placement exceptions.
  • Maintains awareness of external insurance market conditions and articulates the value proposition of IRM Insurance strategy to local decision makers.
  • Analyses insurance programme loss data, identifies trends and provide risk management recommendations to business stakeholders and Insurance & Risk Management leadership.
  • Manage Insurance referral process (e.g. local insurance placements), providing timely and accurate advice to Business Units, coordinating with Global Insurance Job Family
  • Align and collaborate with other GBS Service Lines (Procurement, Real Estate, Legal & HR etc.) and Business Unit stakeholders whilst directing the review of insurance clauses/requirements in lease/sub-lease and vendor contracts, purchase orders and RFP’s/RFQ’s.
  • Delivers training and education to Business Unit insureds to promote awareness of the scope/limitations of cover and of the insureds’ obligations to ensure that coverage applies/responds.
  • Support PRE (Property Risk Engineering) to coordinate with Business Units the Property Risk Surveys on key DHL premises, arranged by fronting insurer.
  • Prepare, maintain and distribute management reports covering programme status, key performance indicators, risk exposures and other relevant insurance information.
  • Monitor relevant insurance market and regulatory developments and assess their implications for DHL’s insurance programmes in Asia Pacific.
  • Conduct business reviews with stakeholders, identify process improvement opportunities and present practical recommendations to Insurance & Risk Management leadership.
  • Drives continuous improvements, using FIRST CHOICE practices, in process and service delivery to reinforce Provider of Choice status.
  • Liaise with other IRM functions (Contract Risk Management, Claims, Health & Wellbeing etc) in the assigned territory and elsewhere to promote cross functional alignment and optimize IRM offerings and Business Unit satisfaction levels.

Your profile:

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Customer oriented, empathic, with the ability to understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication and able to articulate technical content to a non-technical audience
  • Good time management skills to effectively interact with customers and manage multiple priorities and workload.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and ensure accurate data input
  • Full Professional Proficiency in written and oral English
  • Extensive knowledge of PowerPoint, Word & Excel

Experience Level:

10 years’ experience of Insurance within a global multinational insurance company, broker or in-house risk function.

Education Level:

University degree and / or holding a professional qualification in insurance or other business management qualification
