Technology is at the heart of this journey: enabling safer, smarter, more reliable operations and supporting our ambition to simplify and integrate global logistics. If you are passionate about infrastructure, operational excellence, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact across our Africa and Europe terminals.

We offer

At APM Terminals, you will join a collaborative, international environment where learning, development, and continuous improvement are part of everyday work. We invest in our people, encourage knowledge sharing, and create space for colleagues to grow their technical expertise, broaden their business understanding, and build meaningful careers. As Regional Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a key regional technology resource for our Africa and Europe terminals, including Poti, Rijeka, Aarhus, Gothenburg, Vado, Gijon, Barcelona, Valencia, Apapa, Onne, and Monrovia. You will help deliver, maintain, modernize, and secure critical technology services across compute, storage, network, end-user services, applications, and cybersecurity, acting as an important bridge between global technology teams and local terminal operations.

APM Terminals plays a vital role in this transformation by operating terminals around the world and enabling resilient, efficient, and technology-driven operations. Our Technology organization is central to this agenda, helping unlock competitive advantage through standardization, modernization, automation, and secure digital foundations.

We support a healthy work-life balance and offer an energizing, pioneering environment where you can learn, grow, and contribute to work that matters. This is a terminal-based role, with flexibility depending on location and operational circumstances. If you want to combine hands-on infrastructure expertise with regional impact and global collaboration, we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for an experienced Regional Infrastructure Engineer, based in Vado, Italy, to join our friendly and highly collaborative regional team. You will work closely with colleagues across multiple terminals, global technology teams, operational stakeholders, and external partners to ensure our technology landscape remains secure, reliable, and ready for the future.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in executing our modernization, standardization, resilience, and security agenda for technology services. You will support business-critical operations, troubleshoot complex issues, drive improvements, and help translate global standards into practical, reliable solutions for our terminals.

Key Responsibilities –

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure high availability and reliable performance of regional technology services across compute, storage, network, end-user services, applications, and cybersecurity.
  • Use ServiceNow and other service management tools to resolve incidents and requests within agreed service levels.
  • Execute global change programs with strong change management discipline, reducing risk and avoiding unplanned service interruptions.
  • Implement secure configurations and deployments in line with APM Terminals standards, policies, and cybersecurity expectations.
  • Use monitoring and visibility tools to provide clear insight into IT, OT, operations, and business-critical services.
  • Create and maintain clear diagrams, technical documentation, and operational records that support standardization, supportability, and compliance.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of modern infrastructure technologies, standards, and operational best practices.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting secure network solutions across WLAN, LAN, and WAN environments.
  • Experience with compute, storage, and virtualization solutions such as HyperFlex, Nutanix, and VMware.
  • Proven experience in Cisco environments; relevant certifications will be considered an advantage.
  • Exposure to OT-related systems and an understanding of operational technology environments.
  • Experience with firewall technologies; certification is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Zabbix, and FireMon.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, third parties, global teams, local terminal teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience reviewing, planning, and supporting end-to-end technology solutions.
  • Experience deploying, maintaining, and supporting business-critical applications and infrastructure services.
  • A structured, proactive mindset with the ability to balance project delivery, incident response, and continuous improvement.
