Job Description

Regional HR Business Partner

Drive People Strategy at Copart UK

We are looking for a Regional HR Business Partner to support our Operation Centres across Scotland and Ireland. This is a regional role requiring regular travel across the area, so we are seeking someone who is comfortable working closely with operational teams across multiple sites.

The successful candidate will be based from either the Edinburgh or Glasgow areas.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in operations, logistics, transport, or a similar fast-paced, multi-site environment, who understand the challenges of supporting operational workforces and partnering with managers to drive business performance.

About Copart

Copart UK is a leader in the vehicle remarketing industry, employing 1,700 teammates across 19 Operation Centres and three head office locations in Bedfordshire. We are an innovative, people-focused company, passionate about growth and professional development. At Copart, we foster an inclusive, collaborative and supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Your Role as an HR Business Partner

As an HR Business Partner, you’ll play an integral part in delivering our people strategy and supporting operational performance. Working closely with site and operational managers, you’ll provide proactive, commercially focused HR support, helping leaders build effective teams, develop their people and create a high-performance culture.

You will act as a trusted partner to the business, balancing hands-on HR delivery with a forward-thinking approach to people management. You’ll use workforce data, employee insights and your understanding of operational challenges to identify risks, recommend solutions and drive continuous improvement.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert HR advice and guidance on employee relations, performance management, absence management, organisational change and wider people matters.
  • Building strong relationships with operational leaders and site managers, understanding their business priorities and aligning HR support to operational needs.
  • Coaching and challenging managers to improve leadership capability, employee engagement, accountability and team performance.
  • Taking a proactive approach to identifying workforce risks, trends and opportunities for improvement, rather than simply responding to issues as they arise.
  • Analysing HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends, inform decisions and support targeted interventions.
  • Supporting recruitment, talent development, succession planning, retention and workforce planning across the region.
  • Leading and supporting HR projects and initiatives that deliver measurable improvements for the business and our teammates.
  • Promoting consistent application of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to your core responsibilities, you will:

  • Act as the strategic link between HR and operational management, ensuring people priorities support wider business objectives.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the operational environment, workforce challenges and commercial drivers across your region.
  • Partner with managers to address recurring employee relations issues, improve people management practices and build management capability.
  • Use HR dashboards and workforce insights to identify emerging risks and agree appropriate actions with operational leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in people processes, employee experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Support organisational development, change initiatives and the development of a high-performance culture.
  • Build strong working relationships across the wider HR team to ensure a consistent, collaborative approach to supporting the business.

What You’ll Get in Return

At Copart UK, we value the contributions of our people and offer a range of benefits:

  • £ Competitive Salary
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with an additional day per year to use for something special.
  • A paid volunteer day for a charity of your choice.
  • Car allowance
  • Private medical insurance and Westfield
  • Contributory workplace pension scheme to help you plan for the future.
  • Financial protection and peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
  • Access to our Deals Hub, with savings on everyday purchases, family activities and more.
  • The opportunity to purchase shares in our global company at a discounted rate.
  • Save on commuting through our Cycle to Work Scheme, plus access to fitness videos and gym discounts.
