Iron Mountain is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Regional Head - DC Construction to join our Business Function/Department team.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end planning, design coordination, execution, commissioning, and defect-free handover of large-scale, multi-million-dollar hyperscale and enterprise data center infrastructure projects.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations professionals, driving operational excellence and rigorous risk management throughout the entire project lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
Project Leadership & Governance: Drive end-to-end delivery of greenfield and brownfield data center projects exceeding $100M USD, establishing robust governance structures to ensure compliance with quality, schedule, and budget metrics.
Design & Engineering Coordination: Oversee design development from concept to Issued for Construction (IFC), coordinating complex architectural, structural, civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) disciplines to meet Tier III and Tier IV requirements.
Infrastructure Construction & Commissioning Management: Direct all site execution and testing activities—including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Level 1–5 commissioning—ensuring seamless operational readiness and transition to the operations team.
Commercial, Risk, & Stakeholder Management: Oversee project budgets, cost controls, change orders, and risk registers while managing strategic relationships with clients, consultants, Project Management Companies (PMCs), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and regulatory authorities.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Assurance: Champion a "Zero Harm" culture and enforce rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations across all concurrent project programs.
The ideal candidate will have:
18–25 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, with a minimum of 8–10 years dedicated specifically to delivering Tier III/Tier IV hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center projects.
Strong knowledge of Mission-Critical Infrastructure, including high-voltage/low-voltage electrical distribution, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, chillers, precision cooling, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).
Proven ability in Large-Scale Project Controls & Contract Administration, utilizing tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project to manage complex EPC/PMC contracts and budgets exceeding $100M USD.
Expertise in Executive Stakeholder Management, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and leading multi-disciplinary, matrixed project teams.
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent technical field (Master's degree and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred).
