Our client is an elite international law firm with a strong and growing presence in Asia. Following a strategic review, the firm is expanding its Hong Kong office and investing in senior business development leadership to drive growth across the APAC region. This is a newly defined role that sits at the intersection of practice group strategy and marcomms execution, serving as the primary bridge between practice leadership and the firm's broader marketing and client development organisation.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary marketing advisor to practice group and market leaders, aligning practice-specific business goals with the firm's overarching growth strategies.
Responsibilities include owning the development of comprehensive, data-driven annual marketing plans, identifying whitespace market opportunities through competitive intelligence, driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver omnichannel experiences that amplify market presence and drive revenue growth, and managing the interface between practice leadership and enabling functions to prioritise high-value initiatives. The role also involves directing and coaching a high-performing marketing team, ensuring brand narrative alignment with the global brand, and partnering with insights teams to define and review high-value KPIs.
This is a people leader role with direct reports and full team management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of directly relevant marketing or business development experience, with at least 5 years in a management role within professional services or B2B marketing. Fluency in Mandarin and English (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential. A bachelor's degree is required, and prior legal industry experience is strongly preferred. The candidate must demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to organise and prioritise multiple initiatives under tight timelines, and a consultative approach to driving projects and achieving outcomes. Strong judgment, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to lead through influence are critical. Travel between offices is expected.
