About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Regional General Manager to lead our Victoria and South Australia business.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the region, including strategic planning, financial results, sales growth, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, people leadership, and safety performance.

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will formulate and execute regional strategies aligned with Schindler Australia's objectives while ensuring a high-performing, customer-focused, and safety-driven culture.

This role requires a commercially astute and inspirational leader who can drive business performance, develop strong customer relationships, and lead a diverse team through continued growth and change.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute the regional business strategy aligned with Schindler Australia's objectives
  • Drive profitable growth across New Installations, Existing Installations and Modernisation business lines
  • Deliver regional financial targets, budgets, forecasts and business performance objectives
  • Maintain strong governance, financial accountability and effective forecasting processes
  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team, driving engagement, capability and succession planning
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders
  • Ensure customer satisfaction measures are monitored and continuously improved
  • Drive sales performance and identify opportunities to grow market share within the region
  • Ensure compliance with all Schindler policies, quality systems and business processes
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence
  • Promote and model Schindler's values, strategy and customer-first mindset across the region
  • Drive and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring safety remains the highest priority at all times

Requirements for the role:

  • Proven experience in a Regional General Manager, General Manager, State Manager, Business Unit Manager or similar senior leadership position
  • Experience within the Lift, Construction, Building Services, Infrastructure, HVAC, Electrical, Facilities Management or related industries
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Business or a related discipline
  • MBA or postgraduate business qualification highly regarded
  • Demonstrated success managing P&L performance, budgets, forecasting and commercial outcomes
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading large and diverse teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to build long-term strategic relationships
  • Proven ability to drive business growth, operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance and employee engagement
