What You'll Do

As a Regional Field Safety Specialist, you'll partner with operations leadership to promote safe work practices, reduce risk, and ensure compliance across multiple job sites.

Responsibilities include:

Conduct field safety audits, inspections, and jobsite evaluations.

Investigate workplace injuries, incidents, near misses, vehicle accidents, and DOT-related events.

Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, FRA, DOT, and company safety policies.

Deliver safety training, coaching, and mentoring to field personnel.

Assist in developing and updating safety training programs and educational materials.

Evaluate jobsite hazards including confined spaces, elevated work, hazardous materials, noise, dust, vapors, and other environmental risks.

Recommend and monitor corrective actions to minimize workplace hazards.

Provide technical guidance regarding PPE, respiratory protection, confined space entry, and safe work practices.

Maintain accurate safety documentation, training records, and compliance files.

Partner with operations managers to strengthen the company's safety culture.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of safety experience in industrial or field operations.
  • At least 3 years of field operations, instructor, or operational leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and developing corrective action plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence others and build strong working relationships with field personnel and management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Travel

  • Extensive regional travel required
  • Overnight travel expected
  • Work directly at customer locations, railroad properties, industrial facilities, and emergency response sites
  • Occasional extended hours supporting emergency operations
