Job Description Summary:
The Regional Facilities Specialist independently manages facilities operations and workplace services for SOLV Energy's Broomfield office and supports regional facilities initiatives. The position serves as the local facilities authority for employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and property management and is accountable for operational readiness, service quality, security administration, space utilization, vendor performance, cost control, and facilities projects.
This role evaluates operational needs, compares available courses of action, and makes decisions within established policies, delegated authority, and approved budgets. The Specialist determines priorities, selects appropriate solutions, resolves significant operational issues, and implements procedures without requiring routine approval. Matters involving material financial exposure, legal risk, employee safety, or exceptions beyond delegated authority are escalated to Corporate Facilities leadership.
This role is based full-time in our office in Denver, CO. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Operational Leadership and Decision-Making
- Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing facilities issues, service requests, preventive maintenance, office readiness, and competing operational needs.
- Evaluate facility conditions and operational risks; determine the appropriate response, corrective action, vendor engagement, interim control, or escalation path.
- Make day-to-day operating decisions for the Broomfield office within established policies, delegated authority, and approved budgets.
- Investigate and resolve significant service, workplace, vendor, access, and building-related issues on behalf of Corporate Facilities.
- Interpret and implement facilities policies, operating standards, and workplace procedures; recommend changes when existing practices do not adequately address business needs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain local procedures, service standards, inspection routines, emergency response practices, and business continuity measures.
- Represent Corporate Facilities in local discussions with property management, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders, and provide recommendations to leadership on matters affecting regional operations.
Office Operations and Workplace Management
- Assume primary responsibility for the safety, organization, professionalism, and operational readiness of the Broomfield office.
- Determine workspace, conference room, hoteling, and seating solutions based on business requirements, occupancy, employee needs, and space constraints.
- Assess supply and service requirements, set replenishment levels, and authorize routine purchases within approved budgets and delegated limits.
- Establish priorities for mail, shipping, courier, meeting support, executive visits, training activities, office events, and related workplace services.
- Analyze recurring workplace issues and implement practical solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and employee experience.
Vendor, Contract and Financial Administration
- Define service requirements and scopes of work; obtain and evaluate vendor proposals based on cost, service capability, risk, response time, and operational impact.
- Select and engage service providers within delegated authority and approved procurement requirements; make vendor recommendations when higher-level approval is required.
- Direct vendor activity, schedule work, establish performance expectations, inspect completed services, require corrective action, and resolve performance deficiencies.
- Review invoices, validate services and pricing, approve or recommend payment within delegated authority, and identify billing discrepancies or cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor operating expenses and project costs; maintain budget trackers and forecast emerging needs for leadership review.
- Maintain vendor contracts, certificates of insurance, W-9s, service records, and other required documentation.
Facilities, Security and Risk Management
- Determine the response to maintenance, HVAC, janitorial, security, life-safety, pest control, landscaping, coffee service, AV, and building service issues.
- Conduct routine inspections, assess operational and safety concerns, establish corrective-action priorities, and verify completion.
- Administer employee and visitor access, badges, credentials, visitor controls, and local security procedures in accordance with company requirements.
- Support security audits, access reviews, incident response, and compliance activities; document findings and implement approved corrective measures.
- Coordinate after-hours or emergency response and make immediate decisions necessary to protect people, property, and business operations, followed by appropriate notification and escalation.
Projects, Space Planning and Regional Support
- Lead assigned workstreams for renovations, tenant improvements, relocations, office openings or closures, furniture installations, and capital projects.
- Evaluate project requirements, sequence activities, coordinate site access and vendors, resolve field issues, and make recommendations regarding scope, schedule, cost, and operational impact.
- Maintain project plans, budgets, invoices, pay-application support, punch lists, risk logs, and closeout documentation.
- Provide independent facilities assessments and recommendations for supported regional locations.
- Travel approximately 30% to support office assessments, projects, relocations, training center coordination, operational needs, and other company initiatives.
Systems, Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Own the local facilities ticket queue by evaluating requests, assigning priorities, determining resolution paths, monitoring service levels, and closing issues after validating completion.
- Use Microsoft Planner, Freshservice, Excel, Teams, and other company systems to manage work, document decisions, track expenditures, communicate status, and report results.
- Analyze service trends, recurring failures, vendor performance, expenses, space needs, and operational data to recommend and implement improvements.
- Create and maintain SOPs, methods and procedures, checklists, asset records, maintenance logs, vendor databases, and business continuity documentation.
- Develop scalable practices that can be adopted by other regional offices to improve consistency, accountability, and service delivery.
Decision Authority and Escalation
- Authorized to prioritize operational work and determine the appropriate course of action for routine and non-routine facilities matters within assigned responsibility.
- Authorized to direct on-site service providers, reject deficient work, require corrective action, and adjust service schedules to protect business operations.
- Authorized to approve routine purchases, services, and invoices within delegated financial limits and approved budgets.
- Authorized to implement local operating procedures consistent with company policy and recommend policy or budget changes to leadership.
- Expected to escalate matters involving significant unbudgeted expense, legal or regulatory exposure, serious safety or security incidents, contractual commitments beyond delegated authority, or material exceptions to company policy.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 4-5 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities operations, corporate services, office management, property management support, workplace operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience independently evaluating problems, comparing options, making operational decisions, and implementing solutions with limited supervision.
- Experience developing scopes of work, evaluating vendor proposals, directing service providers, monitoring performance, and resolving deficiencies.
- Working knowledge of facilities maintenance, security and access administration, space planning, workplace services, project coordination, and operational risk management.
- Experience tracking expenses, reviewing invoices, maintaining budget reports, and making cost-conscious recommendations.
- Strong written communication, judgment, organization, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to urgent conditions, communicate decisions, and recognize when escalation is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Microsoft Planner, Freshservice, and similar business applications.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multiple office locations or regional facilities operations.
- Experience with badge access and security platforms such as LenelS2 or comparable systems.
- Experience coordinating tenant improvements, office renovations, relocations, capital projects, and vendor agreements.
- Experience preparing operating procedures, business cases, budget recommendations, or facilities performance reports.
Training, Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The selected candidate will complete extensive hands-on onboarding and training led by the Corporate Facilities team in San Diego, California. Training may require an extended temporary stay and will continue until the employee demonstrates the ability to independently manage assigned operations and uphold company standards.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to move office supplies, equipment, furniture, and materials with appropriate assistance when required.
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or outside normal business hours for projects, emergencies, or operational needs.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced office and field environment involving changing priorities, independent decisions, frequent stakeholder interaction, and occasional urgent matters.
