What you’ll be doing:

  • Building strong relationships with site leaders and keeping them informed of maintenance issues, priorities and potential costs
  • Managing relationships with external contractors and preferred suppliers
  • Supervising contractor work on site and ensuring appropriate health and safety requirements are met
  • Supporting the recruitment, induction and development of maintenance team members
  • Overseeing Test and Tag requirements and other relevant property compliance activities
  • Providing practical advice and support when significant or unexpected maintenance issues arise
  • Working collaboratively across our Property, Operations and site teams to find better ways of delivering safe, effective facilities services.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong knowledge of building codes and relevant compliance requirements
  • Recent experience managing contractors and external suppliers
  • Experience supporting maintenance or facilities across multiple sites
  • Experience with smart building technology would be an advantage
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to make sound decisions and influence outcomes
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence using technology and systems as part of your day-to-day work
  • A current New Zealand driver’s licence and the flexibility to travel regularly between Oceania sites from Hawke’s Bay to Christchurch
  • An understanding of aged care or similarly regulated environments would be beneficial.
