Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Facilities Manager to join the Business Services directorate!

The role can be based from any of our offices within the south region. We have a hybrid working approach, with a combination of office and home working. You will be required to attend the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

As part of your role, you will manage a Regional Facilities Service, working with the facilities management provider to maximise financial and operational performance, minimise organisational risk and ensure compliance with the contract.

Please note that this position will have on duty responsibility and may be required to work unsociable hours. You will also be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full driving licence, with no more than 3 points, to be considered for this position.

  • Ensure health and safety management is maintained on all buildings within area responsibility and that all projects undertaken comply fully with health and safety legislation, best practice and company policy by assessing safety performance to minimise risks, develop improvements and escalate issues with relevant authorities in a timely manner.
  • Manage facilities management contracts ensuring performance and quality levels are met throughout their full term and risks to delivery are treated in a timely manner.
  • Conduct effective governance of contracts, ensuring administration and resource management are maintained at optimal levels using appropriate metrics and techniques for performance measurement.
  • Use reporting and recording to identify options and opportunities for improvement in service quality, performance, delivery and pricing.
  • Carry out regular assessment of contractual and commercial risks and maintain a risk register of factors affecting business continuity, using learning to develop and manage effective contingency planning.

About you.

  • Facilities Management technical skills and experience or FM qualification, or willingness to undertake a qualification to perform effective intelligent client role.
  • IWFM qualified or capable of achieving professional membership or technical qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Contract management skills with the capability to engage effectively with professional, technical and other service delivery partners.
  • Competent negotiator able to maximise delivery and achieve best value from supply chain.
  • NEC 3 Service manager experience and accreditation is desirable.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
