The Regional EHS Manager for Production Solutions oversees all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs related to the installation, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of oilfield production equipment. The role ensures safe execution across the region for field operations and facilities, regulatory compliance, and equipment integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Culture
- Direct EHS strategy for production equipment operations across multiple regions.
- Manages an EHS staff and mentors front-line leaders, and maintenance teams to strengthen hazard recognition and safe work practices.
- Partner with operations leadership to integrate safety in equipment design, installation, and lifecycle management.
- Drive a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
Regulatory and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state oil & gas regulatory bodies.
- Oversee environmental compliance including emissions, SPCC, waste handling, and groundwater protection.
- Manage regulatory inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Maintain documentation for equipment certifications, pressure testing, emissions monitoring, maintenance records, and inspections.
General Safety
- Facilitate and conduct field audits on field operations and employees.
- Verify proper use of pressure-rated components, electrical classifications, LOTO, and confined space procedures.
- Support safe execution of high-risk tasks.
- Lead investigations for equipment failures, leaks, fires, incidents, and high-potential incidents.
Program Development and Risk Management
- Develop and maintain EHS procedures for installation, operation, inspection, and maintenance of production equipment.
- Implement risk assessment tools such as JHAs and JSAs or pre-job hazard analyses.
- Oversee contractor safety programs for equipment vendors, electricians, welders, and maintenance contractors.
- Track and analyze EHS performance metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
Environmental Protection and Emergency Response
- Lead emergency response and planning for production-equipment incidents such as leaks, spills, fires, and pressure releases.
- Coordinate spill response, waste management, and remediation activities.
- Ensure production sites maintain proper containment, emissions controls, and environmental safeguards.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8–12+ years of EHS experience in oil & gas operations, with significant exposure to production equipment or facilities.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations, SPCC, emissions rules, and API/ASME standards.
- Proven leadership experience managing EHS teams in field-based environments.
- Experience with incident investigation and equipment failure analysis.
Preferred
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, CIH, or equivalent.
- Experience with artificial lift, tank batteries, VRUs, compressors, or production facility operations.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001/45001 systems.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
