Regional Director of Operations – Ireland

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Location: Ireland (National/Multi-Site Responsibility)

Salary: €70,000 – €85,000 DOE + Benefits

Role Purpose

The Regional Director of Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for the operational performance, quality, growth, and profitability of Right at Home’s Irish business operations. Reporting directly to the COO, the role provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple locations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred domiciliary and elder care services while maintaining full regulatory compliance and commercial performance.

The successful candidate will lead and support a team of Business Managers, Care Supervisors, and Healthcare Assistants, driving operational excellence, workforce engagement, client satisfaction, and sustainable business growth. This role requires an experienced healthcare operations leader with strong commercial acumen, exceptional people leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing multi-site healthcare services while consistently demonstrating the company’s core values of being Authentic, Accountable, Personal, and enabling people to Thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

· Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple Right at Home offices and service locations throughout Ireland.

· Ensure the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care services aligned with the company’s values and standards.

· Develop and implement operational plans aligned with the company objectives and sustainable growth strategies.

· Monitor operational performance through KPIs and implement improvements where required, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

· Lead service development and innovation initiatives that support exceptional client outcomes and employee engagement.

People Leadership

· Lead, mentor, and develop Business Managers, Supervisors, and operational teams through an authentic and supportive leadership approach.

· Foster a positive, accountable, inclusive, and high-performing culture where employees feel valued and empowered to thrive.

· Support succession planning, leadership development, and workforce capability building across the company.

· Drive workforce planning, employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives that strengthen company culture and service continuity.

Financial and Commercial Management

· Hold accountability for regional budgets, profitability, and overall financial performance.

· Monitor revenue, margins, labour costs, and operational utilisation to ensure commercial sustainability.

· Support growth plans, business development initiatives, and strategic expansion opportunities.

· Drive operational efficiencies while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and person-centred care.

Quality, Compliance and Governance

· Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, HIQA standards, legislation, and company policies.

· Oversee audits, inspections, governance processes, and quality improvement plans.

· Promote best practice in risk management, safeguarding, and clinical governance.

· Monitor client outcomes, complaints, incidents, and quality indicators to ensure continuous service improvement and accountability.

Client and Stakeholder Management

· Build strong, authentic relationships with clients, families, healthcare professionals, regulators, and community stakeholders.

· Support teams in managing complex service delivery issues with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-focused mindset.

· Represent Right at Home positively and professionally within the healthcare and community care sector.

Strategic Contribution

· Contribute as a proactive member of the senior leadership team.

· Provide operational insights, performance reporting, and strategic recommendations to the COO.

· Support company transformation, innovation, and long-term growth strategies that enable both clients and employees to thrive.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

· Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Management, Nursing, Health & Social Care, or a related discipline.

· Minimum 7–10 years’ senior management experience in healthcare, social care, home care, or community care.

· Proven experience managing multi-site healthcare operations.

· Demonstrated success leading geographically dispersed teams and driving operational performance.

· Strong financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial decision-making experience.

· Knowledge of Irish healthcare regulations, HIQA standards, and quality governance frameworks.

· Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
