Job Description

The Regional Director is a member of the Leadership team that serves as oversight for designated centers to continue to showcase why Encompass is the leader in early education and care. This individual works with Center Directors to ensure the high-quality success of the program while also maintaining financial feasibility. The Regional Director supports the implementation of agency initiatives within the centers they are responsible for. They provide guidance and development for Center leaders and their Regional Advocate, while ensuring impactful and effective early childhood programs are implemented within the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversee successful programming and operations at designated centers
  2. Orientate, coach, develop, and supervise Center Lead Directors
  3. Ensure compliance with Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing regulations and NAEYC standards.
  4. Utilizes strong knowledge of HighScope and Conscious Discipline to proactively identify trainings needs in cooperation with the Director of Curriculum & Development
  5. Ensure quality early education programming is implemented and assessment is analyzed using the Child Observation Record platform to measure progress of center, classroom, and children
  6. Support Directors in ensuring fiscal/operation aspects of the center are aligned with projected budget and FTE’s
  7. Collaborate with agency leaders and various departments to ensure the needs of each center are being met
  8. Works with other leaders to identify and participate in community engagement opportunities that would showcase Encompass within the community
  9. Proactively identifies programming needs and works with necessary team members to ensure implementation of best practices
  10. Provide and guide professional development opportunities for Directors consistent with personal development plans and program-wide development plans
  11. Demonstrate a champion-attitude around early education, agency initiatives, and training/development as it develops
  12. Collaborate with Directors and Advocates to appropriately coordinate Advocate workload while ensuring effective and impactful support services

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Support the Encompass mission, demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality in all encounters.
  2. Serve as back up to Lead Directors & other Regional Director(s) as needed.
  3. This position does require the ability to frequently travel within region, not to exceed locations over 45 miles from Administrative Office
  4. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate noise level in work environment and often required to stand, bend, and lift to 30 pounds
  • Required to talk, hear and the ability for close vision.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb/balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.

EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a combination of a bachelor’s degree in another field with credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or early childhood special education required
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Center Director or a related management position highly preferred
  • Prior experience with NAEYC accreditation & High Scope curriculum
  • Experience with Conscious Discipline desired
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, etc.
