Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Regional Development Manager, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £24.24 - £32.01 per hour

This is a key leadership role contributing to the development and delivery of Foster Wales Cardiff and Foster Wales Vale of Glamorgan services. You will lead on regional partnership working, service improvement, and innovation across fostering teams.

Working collaboratively at both regional and national levels, you will play a vital role in shaping fostering services, promoting best practices, and strengthening support systems for foster carers and children looked after.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of high-quality, innovative fostering services aligned with organisational objectives and targets
  • Drive regional improvement initiatives across Cardiff & Vale fostering teams
  • Promote best practice and effective partnership working across services
  • Oversee and manage the regional front door for fostering recruitment, including staff management and performance reporting
  • Lead the development and implementation of the regional fostering work programme

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work, Social Care, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
    (desirable/essential depending on role level)

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in fostering services or children's social care, with strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding practices.
  • Proven ability to lead service improvements, manage change, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience in partnership working, with the ability to build relationships and influence a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, including experience managing teams or overseeing service performance.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
