Company Overview

Our client is an established, world-class product owner and global manufacturer of automated mechanical handling systems, high-capacity machinery, and integrated structural solutions (including automated car parking systems, specialized logistics vehicles, and heavy-access gondolas). Unlike a rigid component supplier or third-party integrator, they own the entire product lifecycle from initial conceptual blueprint to manufacturing and structural execution. Due to active regional expansion across the Asia-Pacific market, they are seeking two technical design experts to join their engineering team in Shah Alam.

Mission

The Regional Design Engineer (Control & Automation) takes absolute technical leadership of the control system lifecycle for complex, large-scale mechanical handling structures. This is a robust, independent role centered heavily on the
control side of systems engineering
. You will act as the engineering lead—designing electrical circuits, writing advanced PLC programming logic, advising commercial teams during initial bid proposals, and physically executing factory tests and field commissioning.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

1. End-to-End Control Design & Structural Analysis

• 
  Electrical Architecture:
  Perform high-fidelity electrical circuit designs, component selection, panel component layouts, and termination logic in line with international engineering principles.

• 
  Control Specification:
  Formulate and maintain detailed technical blueprints and engineering documentation, including electrical schematic diagrams, block diagrams, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), network mapping lists, and system architectures.

• 
  Logic Programming:
  Develop and optimize PLC software programming and logic configurations to meet stringent product functional and safety specifications.

• 
  Structural Integration:
  Review, interpret, and align control architectures with the physical/mechanical structural limits of the machinery (gondolas, automated parking grids, etc.) to eliminate structural or design conflicts.

2. Presales Technical Advisory & Proposal Tag-Along

• 
  Bid Consultancy:
  Partner with the internal Product and Tender Teams during the pre-proposal/bidding phase. Tag along to client presentations to advise on technical feasibility, setting the engineering direction on "what to do and what not to do."

• 
  Costing & Resource Alignment:
  Provide precise engineering design insights to prevent downstream scope creep and budget overruns.

3. Testing, Commissioning & Field Quality (Seasonal Travel)

• 
  Validation Testing:
  Execute thorough software and hardware validation testing at the Shah Alam headquarters prior to shipping.

• 
  Field Commissioning:
  Lead hands-on on-site commissioning, integration, and field validation at client facilities across the APAC region.

• 
  Acceptance Management:
  Oversee and execute both Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure 100% specification alignment.

4. Project Control & Governance

• 
  Change Governance:
  Manage design variations independently, addressing design gaps and conflicts smoothly without delaying project schedules.

• 
  Data Processing:
  Promptly track and log engineering man-hours into the SAP operation system to ensure accurate tracking against the allocated project budget.

Requirements

Education & Technical Mastery

• 
  Education:
  Bachelor’s Degree in
  Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering
  , or a closely related automation discipline.

• 
  Control Expertise:
  Mandatory proficiency in
  PLC programming, logic diagrams, and Functional Design Specification (FDS)
  mapping.

• 
  Asset/Experience Fit:
  Highly preferred to have prior exposure or experience regarding
  mechanical handling systems, heavy machinery, or structural design layouts
  .

• 
  Language Requirement (1 Headcount):
  Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin
  is mandatory for one of the vacancies to facilitate technical alignment, vendor coordination, and design reviews with specific regional stakeholders. The second vacancy is open to non-Mandarin speakers.

Experience & Competencies

• 
  Professional Background:
  Minimum of 3+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in electrical engineering control design.

•
