About the role

The Group Data & Analytics Sr. Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex datasets, developing reports and dashboards, and providing insights to support strategic and operational decisions. This role ensures data accuracy and supports data governance initiatives. This job profile is intended for experienced professionals who apply practical knowledge of a job area and work independently with general supervision.

Regional Data Analyst

| Business Intelligence Team

Sulzer offers a wealth of opportunities to drive your career in the direction you want, depending on your skills and interests. We invite you to apply if you are ready to take the next step.

Join Sulzer’s Business Intelligence & Analytics team as we accelerate our data transformation across the Services Division. This is a role at the intersection of business intelligence, analytics, and technology — for someone who not only understands what the business needs and translates it into impactful dashboards and analysis, but who actively looks for smarter, faster ways to do it.

We are not looking for someone who waits to be handed a tool. We want someone with a builder mindset — who sees a repetitive process and immediately thinks about how to streamline it, who stays genuinely close to what technology can do, and who brings proposals to the table without being asked.

About the Role

As a Business Intelligence & Data Analyst, you will serve as the bridge between regional business stakeholders and our data ecosystem. You will own dashboard development end-to-end, support data quality and governance, and act as a trusted analytics resource for teams spanning Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain.

Beyond delivery, you will be expected to continuously challenge how things are done — identifying opportunities to leverage emerging tools and technologies to make the team and the business work smarter.

What You Will Be Doing

Dashboard Development & Governance

  • Gather and translate business requirements into well-structured, decision-enabling dashboards and analyses
  • Develop and maintain dashboards in Qlik Sense, ensuring consistent look, feel, and logic across all BI outputs
  • Manage development as a project — define scope, align with stakeholders, meet deadlines, and iterate based on feedback
  • Develop a deep understanding of our data ecosystem — sources, structures, and how data flows across CRM, ERP, and cloud platforms
  • Ensure all dashboards are self-explanatory, actionable, and require minimal training to use
  • Maintain documentation of dashboards, data models, and processes
  • Participate in ERP, CRM, and BI governance forums as a reference point for end-users across the region

Data Quality & Governance

  • Proactively identify data quality issues and support the relevant teams to define and implement improvement procedures

Analytics & Insights

  • Proactively analyse trends across the region, sub-regions, and product lines to surface relevant business insights
  • Serve as the primary analytics resource for the region, supporting teams with complex questions that go beyond standard dashboard views
  • Conduct ad hoc and deep-dive analyses — leveraging the best available tools to deliver faster, more thorough insights
  • Actively engage with regional and sub-regional management to understand their data requirements and support strategic decisions
  • Guide regional ambassadors on how to navigate and use existing dashboards independently

Training & Enablement

  • Design and deliver training sessions on effective use of BI dashboards and data tools
  • Build a culture of data literacy across the region
  • Act as a consultant and help desk contact for dashboard-related questions

Insight Communication

  • Support leadership with data-driven narratives for strategic decision-making

What We Are Looking For

Experience

  • 3–6 years in a data, analytics, or BI role — ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, B2B environment, or consultancy
  • Proven track record developing dashboards used in real business decision-making, not just reporting
  • Demonstrable experience applying a new tool or technology to solve a real business problem — an automation, a smarter workflow, a better process. We want to see that you have already done it, not just that you are interested in it
  • Experience working alongside operations or commercial teams as a business partner
  • Experience bridging business stakeholders and technical or IT teams

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel / Power Pivot — this is a must. Fully comfortable with complex models, pivot tables, and data manipulation.

Beyond Excel, we value breadth of exposure over depth in any single tool. We are looking for someone who is comfortable navigating data environments and picks up new platforms quickly:

  • BI & dashboarding — hands-on experience building dashboards in any major BI tool (we use Qlik Sense, but Power BI, Tableau or similar is equally valid); what matters is the ability to think in data models and build for usability
  • Databases & data modelling — comfort working with structured data, understanding table relationships, and working across multiple data sources
  • CRM systems — familiarity with how CRM data is structured and how to extract meaningful business insights (Salesforce experience is a plus)
  • ERP systems — exposure to ERP data flows and the ability to navigate and extract relevant data (SAP, D365, or similar)
  • Cloud data platforms — any experience with cloud data warehousing (e.g. Snowflake) is a bonus, not a requirement

Mindset & Soft Skills

  • Builder mindset — gets genuine satisfaction from making things faster and smarter. Looks at a repetitive process and immediately thinks about how to eliminate or improve it
  • Technology-forward — stays genuinely close to what tools and technologies can do, and proactively brings ideas to the team. Not waiting for permission to experiment
  • Proactive and curious — spots opportunities and brings proposals to the table without being asked
  • Business-oriented — understands that the goal is never the tool or dashboard itself, but the decision or efficiency gain it enables
  • Strong communicator — able to present complex analyses and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Influencing skills — able to drive adoption of new tools and ways of working, managing change with confidence and empathy
  • Cultural awareness — comfortable working across different countries, cultures, and business contexts
  • Project management mindset — able to manage multiple requests, set expectations, and deliver on time

Languages

  • English — excellent written and spoken, required
  • Spanish — valued given the regional scope of the role
  • Portuguese — valued given the regional scope of the role

Other

  • Occasional travel within the region may be required

What We Offer

  • A strategic role with real visibility and impact across the region
  • The opportunity to work at the forefront of our data, analytics, and technology transformation
  • A collaborative team environment where your ideas and initiative are genuinely valued
  • Exposure to a wide range of business areas, systems, and senior stakeholders
  • The freedom to build and experiment — we want someone who will make the team work smarter
