Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Container Maintenance & Repair (M&R) activities of CMA CGM's container fleet across Türkiye and the Black Sea region.
  • Review, challenge, approve and optimize repair estimates, ensuring compliance with CMA CGM standards and cost-effectiveness.
  • Determine the most appropriate container disposition strategy, including repair, claim, evacuation, off-hire, sale or disposal decisions.
  • Monitor and control M&R costs across all locations within the scope and proactively drive cost optimization initiatives.
  • Manage high-value and complex repair cases while ensuring equipment availability and operational continuity.
  • Conduct depot audits, physical surveys and supplier performance reviews to ensure quality standards and procedural compliance.
  • Ensure the implementation and execution of CMA CGM technical guidelines, repair standards and M&R procedures across all stakeholders.
  • Monitor depot performance, benchmark local providers and support procurement decisions through technical expertise.
  • Manage and monitor empty damage claims and recover repair costs from responsible parties including depots, terminals, carriers, customers and service providers.
  • Investigate improper repairs and depot-related damages to secure financial recovery and service quality improvements.
  • Act as the regional focal point for all M&R technical matters and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Commercial, Logistics, Equipment Control and Headquarters teams to support operational and commercial priorities.
  • Serve as the spokesperson for VIP customers regarding equipment condition standards and repair requirements.
  • Analyze M&R performance, recovery trends and repair costs, preparing regular reports and recommendations for management.
  • Manage associated administrative activities including invoicing, documentation and claims settlement processes.
  • Support the deployment of new technologies, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives within the M&R function.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and technical guidance within the M&R function, fostering operational excellence, compliance and continuous improvement across the region, while driving team engagement, capability development and high performance.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Container Maintenance & Repair within the shipping, container leasing, depot or logistics industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of dry containers, reefers, container structures and repair methodologies.
  • Experience in damage assessment, estimate validation, depot operations and claims management.
  • IICL5 or IICL6 certification is considered a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of maritime transportation, container operations and equipment management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess repair strategies, optimize costs and interpret operational data.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and effectively communicate with customers, vendors, depots, senior management and Headquarters.
  • Proven problem-solving capability with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Highly organized, autonomous and capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with high standards of professionalism and accountability.
  • Advanced MS Excel proficiency; relevant certifications are considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for depot visits, audits and operational reviews.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
