General Job Description:

In collaboration with other department managers and under the supervision of the Director of Construction Operations, this position will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the operations, strategic planning and personnel management of the Sheetmetal Field, Area and Regional Superintendents across multiple states.

Mega Project Site Superintendents, Sheet Metal

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leadandoverseeallfieldleadershiptoensurestandardsandproductivityaremetinan effort to achieve companygoals

  • Operations

    • Assist direct reportswith

      • Resourcemanagement

      • Promotions of leadershippositions.

      • Proper team selection for all regional construction operations,including assignment of GeneralForeperson

      • Project execution strategies andscheduling

      • Resolution of issues, challenges andobstacles

      • Understanding and execution of QA/QCprotocols

      • Implementation of Safety Department’sprotocols

    • Conduct regular department meetings (i.e.: Superintendent, GeneralForeperson and Forepersonmeetings)

    • Prepare for and attend pre-bid & post-bidinterviews

    • Ensure department’s participation in project kick-off, mid-job andwrap-up meetings

    • Review and track project laborbudgets

    • Provideinputtotoolroommanageronstandardtoolsrequiredfortradespecific use and promote responsible use and return of company issued tools and equipment

    • Engage with employer groups and labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goalsincluding defending and resolving labordisputes

    • Understand and ensure compliance with applicable union CollectiveBargaining Agreements

    • Assist Director in department budget and financialplanning

    • Knowledge of current building and mechanicalcode

    • Submittal standards library and submittal creationprocess

    • Assist Director in department fleetmanagement

    • Other tasks and duties as assigned by Director and/or uppermanagement

    • Understand and support the strategic plan and corporatevision

    • Continual development and implementation of processes and proceduresto achieve high level quality, productivity and efficiency across fieldoperations

    • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with construction operations(ie: installations, materials, equipment,personnel)

    • Ensuresafetymeasuresareup-to-dateandcommunicatedeffectivelytoallfield personnel in an effort to mitigate risk and reduceliability

  • PersonnelManagement

    • Adhere to and promote companypolicies

    • Instill a culture of accountability, integrity, ethics, and respect withinthe department

    • Recruit, promote and retain highly skilled personnel across fieldoperations

    • Mentor, train and develop top performing supervisors (succession planning)to meet current and future business needs and avoid gaps in strongleadership

  • Collaboration

    • Createandfostercollaborativerelationshipsamongleadershipteamsacross varying departments andlocations

    • Participateincross-functionalinitiativesandprojectstomeetcompanygrowth objectives

    • Work closely with Project and Sales Managers on bid strategies andcurrent projectsregarding

Position Requirements:

  • Strong industryknowledge

  • Excellent leadership skills including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong workethic

  • Effective communicator at all levels of thebusiness

  • Experience and deep understanding of each of the trades (sheet metal, pipefitting, process piping, plumbing, electrical controls, electrical, site utilities,start-up)

  • 20+ years of experience in Construction leadingprojects

  • Experience with the various business and corporate software technologiesACCO currentlyutilizes

    • MS Office: Word, Excel,Project

    • Google Workspace: Docs, Gmail, Sheets,Forms

    • Others: Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam,Box

  • Proficient inEnglish.

  • Valid driver’s license and a clean drivingrecord

  • Skilled in reading and interpreting plans andspecifications

  • Knowledgeof:

    • local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sites

Additional Skills/Abilities Preferred, but Not Required:

  • Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, orarchitecture

  • Experience in remote training softwares and technologies used withinbest-in-class organizations

  • Softwareexperience:

    • CRM/PM Platforms:Bidtracer

    • Collaboration: Smartsheet, Slack, Revitzio,PlanGrid

    • Design/Detailing: Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, AutoCAD,Assemble, Navisworks),

25-50% of the time to and from the primary office to regional branch offices.

Wages:

This position is for signatory employees and wages will be aligned with the current Collective Bargaining Agreements.
