Job Description

Position based: Bukit Raja, Klang or Melaka

Job Purpose & Scope

To drive strategic sourcing, supplier relationships and delivering cost savings within the category to improve business competitiveness and efficiency without compromise SHE and quality.

Key Result Areas

  • Ensure all procurement activities are transparent and comply to Group policy and Statutory requirements
  • Quality, health & safety, service, continuous improvement, equality & diversity, and policies
  • Establish and execute category strategy, and monitor stakeholder adherence towards the set plan
  • Contracts and vendor’s management to maximize and preserve.
  • Effective relationship management with all key stakeholders (include customers internal/external)

Key Responsibilities & Job Content

  • Develop and execute category strategy for CAPEX aligned with company objectives and in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Proactively develop and manage a competitive supplier pool to reduce costs, to drive continuous improvement and mitigate risks
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with most senior supplier representatives (owners, CEOs), becoming a trusted business partner
  • Working closely with key stakeholders to understand their requirements within the responsible categories
  • Strategize, review and recommend actions with clear supportive analysis on implications evaluation and decision process.
  • Contract and risk management to secure supply and minimize business exposure
  • Ensuring minimal (ZERO) supply disruption for CAPEX project in relation to responsible categories

Professional Skills & Personal Competencies

  • Bachelor degree or higher (Materials or Engineering)
  • Strong English and Mandarin proficiency
  • > 5 years’ experience in procurement role managing Capex categories
  • Contract and Bidding Management
  • Supplier Management
  • Strategic negotiation

  • Strong in planning, organizing and execution
  • Strategic negotiator to optimize interests / benefits
  • Strong in analytical skills with sharp focus on priority and key actions
