Examples of duties

This position directs the administrative services that support regional operations, ensuring that budgeting, personnel activities, contracts, data management, and daily coordination are carried out effectively. It maintains high standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance across all major functions. As a Regional Business Manager, you will perform the following duties:

  • Budget Oversight: Prepare and submit regional budget requests and establish spending priorities to support operational needs
  • Purchasing Guidance: Supervise purchasing functions, review SAP documents, and verify compliance with purchasing rules
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate, consistent entries in all DEP electronic systems and use tools to prevent quality issues
  • Contract Coordination: Manage emergency, service, and technical contracts and oversee bidding, notification, and award processes
  • Personnel Administration: Monitor payroll, overtime, and personnel actions to ensure alignment with laws, policies, and bargaining requirements
  • Operational Leadership: Coordinate administrative units, address workflow concerns, plan work priorities, and support program staff across disciplines

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position requires occasional travel.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $69,086.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
