Regional Application & Innovation Expert (Role Description)

Title: Regional Application & Innovation Expert, Emerging Markets

Grade: 18, Technical Ladder

Reports to: Regional Application Lead, Diversey Institutional, Emerging Markets

The Regional Application & Innovation Expert is accountable for driving application excellence, capability building, and innovation deployment across India, Southeast Asia, and North Asia.

The role ensures effective translation of global and regional strategies into field execution by:

Acting as a critical interface between Application, Sales, and R&D

Scope of Responsibility

Primary geography: APAC (India, Southeast Asia, North Asia)

Secondary geography: Emerging Markets

Functional scope: Fabric Care (with special focus on North Asia), Kitchen Care, Building Care

Internal stakeholders: Sales, Marketing, TCS, Application Experts, R&D

Responsibilities:

Ø Responsible for training and coaching the Sales, Customer Service, TCS and Application Experts in APAC as well as increasing application knowledge and understanding at local level.

Ø Build and execute structured training programs to improve field competency and customer execution

Ø Responsible for supporting the Marketing and Sales functions identifying sales & margin expansion opportunities, supporting customer acquisitions and joint business development, drive value propositions and conduct customer improvement projects

Ø Where required, support customers through a core competence in auditing, diagnostics, and problem-solving skills and in deploying tools to measure performance

Ø Working closely with the country Application Experts, helping them to effectively troubleshoot issues with customers

Ø Working closely with GSA team members to roll out, launch & implement strategic initiatives across Emerging Markets

Ø Work closely & support the portfolio team in EM to launch / train new innovations

Ø Double working with the local Sales & Application team to retain & acquire new customers

Ø Act as the regional link between Application and R&D for driving successful trials and innovation launches

Ø Responsible for field evaluation of new solutions during research, development and roll-out phase for any Global and Regional project.

Ø Responsible for the Textile Institute Laboratory operations

Ø Responsible for creating, standardizing and following up an employee onboarding plan in Emerging Markets

Managerial Responsibility:

Has no formal managerial responsibility, but may provide guidance to colleagues (e.g., provides coaching, assigns work, provides input into hiring decisions and evaluating performance).

Soft Skills Set:

Ø Strong business acumen with understanding of P&L drivers

Ø Ability to translate technical solutions into commercial value

Ø Has a technical degree, ideally in chemistry or cleaning science, or extensive experience in the field of cleaning and hygiene

Ø Has a core competence in auditing, diagnostics, and problem-solving skills and in deploying tools to measure performance

Ø Has excellent communication skills and can effectively communicate technical information and concepts to non-technical audiences, including customers and partners from other functional areas in the company

Ø Has the competency to partner with colleagues within the R&D organization, as well as with other functions to ensure timely communication and resolution of customer issues

Ø Has affinity for product development, and for trialing new solutions with customers under agreed SOPs

Ø Has ability to prioritize and communicate reasons for assigning low to no priority to requests

Ø Can operate independently, but always with a strong team spirit in mind

Ø Shows enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, initiative, and assumes responsibility

Ø Good presentation & reporting skills, knowledge of Microsoft tools (Powerpoint, Excel, Word), and AI-literate
