Job Description

Key Responsibilities

This role focuses on ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and scalable air freight movements across APAC trade lanes especially for time-sensitive cargo and SLA fulfilment for major customers. Typical duties include:

Capacity Management & Procurement

  • Strategically acquire and optimize air cargo capacity through a mix of spot purchases and Block Space Agreements (BSAs) to ensure operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.Secure reliable capacity at competitive rates to meet operational requirements while maintaining service reliability and fulfilling customer commitments.
  • Drive end‑to‑end procurement effectiveness through integrated market analysis, vendor negotiation, contract management, and performance monitoring, bridging demand forecasting with actual capacity execution.
  • Manage space control, routing instructions, and re-procurement to align with customer needs and network efficiency
  • Monitor and respond to capacity fluctuations, disruptions and market dynamics in APAC

Capacity Optimization & Deployment

  • Determine optimal hub locations, gateway facilities and capacity distribution across regions strategically
  • Plan for peak periods, manage capacity surges, and balance off-season efficiency effectively
  • Implement efficiency gains, reduce waste and optimize cost per kilogram consistently
  • Monitor load factors, identify underutilized routes and implement optimization initiatives systematically
  • Leverage technology for capacity tracking and demand planning for operations where applicable

Gateway & Network Management

  • Establishes regional gateway / hub structure enabling efficient air product distribution, consolidation and comprehensive service delivery across network
  • Leverage strategically-located gateway / hub facilities optimizing network flow, customer service delivery and operational efficiency for regional air product operations
  • Coordinate capacity flow through gateways, optimize consolidation opportunities and manage capacity constraints effectively
  • Align gateway capacity with forecasted volumes, plan expansion projects and optimize throughput allocation
  • Maximize capacity utilization, cost efficiency, and sustainable long-term operational performance standards
  • Provide timely gateway status, manage customer allocations, resolve service issues promptly
  • Incorporate gateway economics into bid pricing, validate feasibility through gateway capacity analysis
  • Monitor gateway profitability with break-even as target, support pricing strategy, enable revenue optimization initiatives systematically

Bid Review & Pricing Strategy

  • Support the evaluation of RFQ, analyse feasibility, formulate competitive pricing and service proposals strategically aligned with business objectives
  • Enable commercial growth through strategic bidding while protecting margin and maintaining optimal network efficiency standards
  • Assess bid profitability, evaluate operational feasibility, ensure strategic fit with company objectives and market positioning
  • Achieve target with rates, protect margins, maintain customer satisfaction metrics, deliver measurable commercial outcomes
  • Account for customer lifetime value, market share implications and network synergies in pricing decisions

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams handling capacity management, gateway operations, customer service and procurement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and compliance.
