Coordinate activities related to the investigation of theft, vandalism, threats, and other security matters in the assigned region. Ensure that security measures and equipment are properly installed at all locations, and communicate security practices to applicable employees, contractors, and outside law enforcement officials. You will also be responsible for overseeing all AEP Service Corp assets, which include the company headquarters, data centers, and other assets under Service Corp.

What you’ll do:
Essential Job Functions & Tasks
Recommend appropriate security personnel levels and equipment, and ensure appropriate security measures are in place at company facilities.
Act as liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement and investigative agencies in the assigned region regarding vulnerability assessments, security needs and related matters.
Develop and coordinate all facets of physical security, including equipment, procedures and methods used to protect personnel and facilities.
Direct and coordinate investigations with appropriate company personnel, contractors and local law enforcement officials, as appropriate.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal employees, contractors and local law enforcement agencies.
Coordinate and assist in the development, communication and training of security policies, methods and procedures, as necessary.
Remain informed of company, local and national security issues and apply necessary changes associated with evolving conditions, as appropriate.
Serve as the primary Region Security Coordinator for OVEC assets and assist with compliance and security matters when needed.
Manage the Site Access Program.
Manage the guard force contract as it relates to key performance indicators and ensure contractor performance meets contract expectations.
Serve as the administrator for the Workplace Violence Program. Lead CARE Team meetings when needed to review internal and external threats against AEP.
Manage the International Travel Program.
Assist other Region Security Coordinators and provide backup support when approved by the Security Manager or Director of Physical Security.
Additional Requirements:
Working knowledge of investigative techniques and criminal procedure.
Working knowledge of risk assessments.
Guard force management experience.
Responsibility for physical security across a large geographic area that includes urban and rural facilities.
Ability to travel overnight up to 40% of the time.
Experience delivering training is preferred. The successful candidate may be required to deliver training through a learning management system or face-to-face instruction.
Former or active full-time paid sworn law enforcement employment at the local, state or federal level is highly preferred.
Must live within AEP’s service territory and report in office to AEP Headquarters.

Bachelor's degree or associate degree and three years' experience OR High School and 10 years' experience.
Work Experience requirement listed below:
Minimum of three years' experience in one of the following: Sworn Paid Law enforcement employee at the local, state or federal level; active-duty military; corporate security or related field. (in addition to experience listed above).
