What you will do:

This position administers the direct service delivery of the child welfare and protective investigations programs within the region.
This is advanced professional work supervising and directing employees. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to effectively recommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and takes appropriate actions when necessary (i.e. recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.).
Ensures organizational achievement and compliance with department, region and circuit mandates.
Establishes operational and managerial goals and objectives within the region.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with a broad array of organizations and groups with an interest, relationship and/or involvement in department activities and affairs established in each county of the circuit. These activities may include serving in an interpretive, liaison or committee capacity.
Ensures compliance with department and region strategic plan objectives, performance-based budgeting measures, federal and state laws, rules and operating procedures.
Provides leadership in directing the service delivery in the circuit. Coordinates on-going review of services delivery and management systems to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. Reviews and analyzes monthly performance and alerts the Family & Community Services Director of pertinent implementing issues.
Coordinates community-based care activities within the region. Works with contracts, legal and administrative staff in the department and community partners to plan and implement community-based care initiatives.
Directs the assessment of client needs and develops capacity of existing systems to meet the needs within the region. Manages the development of Child Welfare/CBC programs and improvements in existing programs to meet client needs.

Plans, directs and coordinates projects, work assignments and services to ensure effective delivery of services to clients.

Certifications
Licensure/registration/certification requirements (Current Child Welfare Certification with the Florida Certification Board).
