Job Description

About ElectraNet

ElectraNet builds, owns, operates and maintains South Australia’s high voltage electricity transmission network—connecting generators to distributors and major customers, and powering homes, businesses and communities.

Our people describe our culture as supportive, inclusive and community-focused, where we genuinely want each other to succeed. As we lead the transition to a clean energy future, we’re committed to delivering innovative solutions that enable smarter asset management and stronger network performance.

The Opportunity

Keeping the lights on doesn't happen by chance. It happens because critical maintenance and refurbishment programs are delivered safely, efficiently and at the right time.

As the Refurbishment & Maintenance Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of South Australia's electricity transmission network by leading the delivery of multiple maintenance and refurbishment projects across our assets portfolio. You'll proactively manage project scope, budgets, schedules, contractors, risks and stakeholders while identifying smarter ways to integrate maintenance and capital works to maximise value for the business.

This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity, enjoys influencing outcomes and can balance commercial, technical and operational priorities. You'll work closely with internal teams, contractors and industry stakeholders to deliver Lines Refurbishment[MC1.1] projects that directly support network reliability, asset performance and the energy transition.

If you're motivated by leading high-impact programs, improving performance and delivering outcomes that matter to communities across South Australia, this is an opportunity to help power what's next.

What You'll Be Trusted to Do

You'll be responsible for leading the successful delivery of Lines maintenance and refurbishment programs across ElectraNet's network. In this role, you will:

  • Deliver multiple projects and programs concurrently, managing scope, budgets, schedules, risks, governance and stakeholder outcomes.
  • Lead project planning, contractor mobilisation, construction and commissioning activities to achieve safe, efficient and successful project delivery.
  • Develop, manage and optimise project budgets, forecasts and cost controls, including contract variations and claims management.
  • Oversee contractor performance and contract governance to ensure quality, value-for-money outcomes and compliance with business requirements.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate project, asset and business risks while proactively managing maintenance and refurbishment priorities.
  • Collaborate with planners, engineers, procurement specialists and operational teams to optimise maintenance programs and project delivery outcomes.
  • Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance programs and contractor delivery models.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide leadership that supports successful program delivery and business outcomes

About You

You're a pragmatic and commercially minded project leader who enjoys bringing structure to complexity and driving outcomes in challenging operational environments.

You can confidently manage competing priorities, influence diverse stakeholder groups and make informed decisions that balance safety, risk, cost and performance. You're equally comfortable reviewing project schedules, negotiating contract outcomes or identifying opportunities to improve program delivery.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Approximately 8–10 plus years' experience in project management, maintenance programs, infrastructure delivery or asset-intensive environments such as electricity, utilities, construction, mining, transport or industrial operations with transmission line experience highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects and programs within budget, schedule and quality constraints.
  • Strong contract management experience, including contractor performance management, commercial administration, claims and variation management.
  • Sound knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, including PMBOK principles, work breakdown structures, critical path scheduling or earned value management.
  • Strong risk management, problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make decisions in dynamic operational environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or related disciplines, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Project Management (highly regarded).

Employee Benefits

We’re proud to offer a workplace that is supportive, inclusive and genuinely committed to your success. When you join ElectraNet, you join a team that values diversity, collaboration and continuous learning.

For this role, we offer a competitive remuneration package from $160,900 plus superannuation and a performance bonus eligibility of up to 15%. In addition to this, we also offer:

  • 5 weeks annual leave.
  • 15 days personal/carer’s leave.
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave.
  • Flexible work options & wellbeing programs.
  • Additional paid volunteering and office closure leave.
  • Ongoing professional development and certification support.
  • A vibrant and community focused team culture.
  • Regular social events and activities.
