ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, LLC, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Maintenance Refrigeration Mechanic to support our Prime NASA program at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
• Performs Trouble calls on Refrigeration Equipment.
• Able to inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective repairs.
• Replaces obsolete and inoperable equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance on Refrigeration Equipment.
• Responds quickly to emergency situations.
• Ability to service, maintain, operate, and adjust all small oil and gas fired hot water boilers as well as auxiliary heating specialties other that high pressure equipment.
• Recommend and order necessary parts and supplies for installation, service, repair and maintenance of all refrigeration equipment and small oil and gas fired hot water boilers.
• Conduct necessary tests, including standard industry approved trouble shooting methods to determine malfunctions and/or causes of breakdowns of all assigned equipment.
• Performs on call and preventive maintenance duties as necessary.
• Performs all work in a safe manner in accordance with safety practices and procedures.
• Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
• Performs duties such as, but not limited to: work and plant area clean up, file maintenance, warehouse space maintenance and telephone answering as required.
• Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.
• Performs periodic stock inventories and request material requisitions for replacement items as required.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or other equipment.
• Assists and supports other departments, staff and/or trade groups as needed or directed.
• Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related work as required or assigned.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):
• High school graduate or equivalent GED.
• Refrigeration School graduate or equivalent apprenticeship in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration with 3 years minimum experience performing the following:
◦ Maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, calibrating, validating, certifying, testing, and operating domestic and industrial year round air conditioning and heating units.
◦ Removing and replacing system components
◦ Responding and performing required tasks related to emergency, scheduled, unscheduled, and preventive maintenance orders.
• CFC Universal Certification.
• Ability to use mandatory manuals, technical bulletins, or Manufactures Operating Manuals.
• Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds, climb ladders and work in high places.
