The Role: Cooling Technician Refrigeration
You will play a crucial role in engineering and implementing cold room and refrigeration systems for agri-businesses and food storage companies across Africa. The position is home-based (Gauteng preferred) but requires frequent travel across Southern and Eastern Africa, with relocation to Zimbabwe. Working UK hours, you'll manage both technical design and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development of cold storage solutions for new markets and industries across Africa
Design technical specifications and select components for cold rooms and refrigeration systems
Prepare technical and commercial proposals tailored to client needs
Oversee supplier and installer quality assurance, including design reviews and compliance checks
Provide post-installation support including troubleshooting and technical assistance
About You
5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in refrigeration or a related mechanical/electrical field
Diploma, degree, or technical qualification in refrigeration or a closely related area
Based in or experienced with the Southern or Eastern African market
Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel will be thoroughly assessed in interview
Comfortable with frequent travel and possible relocation to Zimbabwe
Independent, resourceful, and capable of working as a freelancer, contractor, or employee
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and customer service
