Job Title
Refrigeration Commissioning Engineer
As a Refrigeration Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering and supporting Azenta’s advanced automated sample management systems.
These market-leading, Cryogenic, HC and air-based refrigeration solutions are designed to support environmental compliance, reduce energy consumption, and improve operational efficiency for our customers globally.
What You'll Be Doing
- The commissioning of a diverse range refrigeration systems and controls, ranging from cryogenic (-80°C) to +18°C. Chilled water (including chillers) CFC free green systems (Air) hydrocarbon (R744) as well as cryogenic hydrocarbons to A2L condensing units. Also providing support to the service department.
- Maintain excellent customer service levels at all times, ensuring a “First Class” service to all clients.
- Take on projects as and when required and see them through to successful completion working as part of a larger team.
- Ability to offer a high level of technical support across the business.
- Working alongside the refrigeration design team, to ensure systems are commissioned to the optimum levels of performance and sustainability.
- To operate and perform functions across both the projects and service divisions.
Financial
- To identify means of reducing unnecessary cost expenditures across the department.
Compliance
- Ensure that all relevant company and legislative policies and best practices are adhered to and maintained at all times
- Inform the Refrigeration Manager of non-conformances of quality and ensure that corrective actions are taken
- Adherence to health & safety policies, ensuring PPE is kept fit for purpose and worn as and when required whilst carrying out duties. Any requirement for new PPE will be supplied by the company
- Calibration of test equipment - All equipment must be calibrated and certificated; this must be kept up to date and in date prior to any use. If tooling is out of calibration, make the refrigeration manager aware.
What You'll Bring
- C&G 2079 ‘F-Gas' Category 1 Qualification essential
- C&G / NVQ or equivalent in Refrigeration & Air Condition essential
- CO2 Trained/Qualified essential
- Hydrocarbon Trained/Qualified
- Strong experience in similar role
- Extensive experience with programming and fault finding of PLC’s and networked systems (RDM/SAIA/DIXELL/CAREL)
- In-depth understanding of the end to end commissioning process and associated activities
- An extensive knowledge of compliance with health and safety, reporting and adherence with RAMS/JSA’s
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal), coupled with strong influencing skills – particularly at a senior level and customer facing.
- Strong PC skills, a working knowledge of salesforce/oracle (Desired) Training will be provided
- Proven record of extensive fault finding skills. Diagnostic intelligence
- Unyielding attention to detail.
- Previous experience of working internationally (Desired)
- Flexible and proactive with ability to work under their own initiative with a high degree of energy, assertiveness and creativity
- CSCS & CCNSG cards an advantage (Training will be provided if necessary)
- Full clean UK driving license and valid passport with ability to obtain visa’s
