Job Description

We're accepting applications now and will begin active recruitment in September/October 2026.

Altea is not another big box gym. It is not a boutique studio. It is an integrated fitness and wellness destination, and Barre in the Sculpt Studio is one of the most technically demanding and genuinely rewarding formats we offer.

Barre at Altea combines low-impact, high-burn classes with isometric holds and micro-movements. Posture, balance, and control are developed using the barre and props for resistance. Every pulse builds resilience. Every hold builds control. The members who commit to it feel it in how they move everywhere else.

We are looking for an instructor who understands the precision the format requires and delivers it with the energy and warmth that makes members come back for more.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Deliver precise, high-burn Barre classes that challenge participants through sustained isometric holds and controlled micro-movements. Every class has a clear structural intention and physical progression.
  • Coach the detail. The difference in Barre is in the micro-adjustment. You cue alignment, engagement, and positioning in a way that makes a small movement genuinely hard and genuinely effective.
  • Use the barre and props with purpose. Every piece of equipment in the room is a coaching tool. You know how to use resistance, support, and challenge to meet participants at every level.
  • Build a community. Barre members return because the work is real, the results show, and the instructor makes them feel capable. You learn names, celebrate consistency, and create a class culture that people want to be part of.
  • Show up prepared. Your class plan is set, your props are organized, and you are on the floor before the first participant arrives. The pre and post class sequence is delivered to standard every time.

WHO YOU ARE

Technically precise, genuinely warm, and steady under the burn. You make the hardest holds feel manageable and the whole class feel worthwhile.

  • You are a real coach. You hear the alignment break before you see it. You cue the correction clearly and make participants feel better for having held on.
  • You are coachable. Feedback is how the program stays excellent. You receive it without ego and apply it.
  • You are consistent. Your standard does not change based on how full the room is or what time it is.
  • You are professional. You represent Altea in the studio and throughout the club with pride and polish.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Current Barre certification required — Pure Barre, The Bar Method, Barre Certification Institute, or equivalent recognized credential
  • Experience teaching Barre classes in a studio or premium fitness environment
  • Strong understanding of isometric training, alignment cueing, and prop-based resistance in a group setting
  • Ballet, dance, or Pilates background is a strong asset
  • Reliable, punctual, and holds a consistently high standard of preparation and professionalism
  • Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement

WHAT YOU'LL EARN

This role is compensated at a level that reflects the standard we hold and the calibre of person we are looking for. All rates of pay are confidential.

  • Complimentary individual Altea membership
  • Career defining growth and development opportunities within a rapidly expanding Canadian brand
