Electrical Supervisor - Refinery
Where will you work: -Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan, Canada
About the role
The Maintenance Electrical Supervisor is responsible for planning, scheduling, and safely directing all electrical maintenance activities within the refinery. This role oversees a team of electricians responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems, ensuring reliable and safe operation of site assets. The supervisor also supports troubleshooting, electrical isolations, and switching activities for both maintenance and project work.
What will you do?
Plan, schedule, and manage electrical maintenance work using SAP Forelog
Lead daily shop and field activities, including:
Supporting electrical work execution
Reviewing Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs)
Troubleshooting electrical issues
Supervise and coordinate electrical work on low- and high-voltage systems
Participate in and contribute to meetings related to:
Manpower planning
Scheduling and KPIs
Project coordination and support
Support and drive site safety initiatives such as risk reduction programs, Intelex, LEGO, and other HSE systems
Perform maintenance planning activities, including budgeting, resource allocation, and material procurement
Provide leadership and supervision to:
6–10 direct reports
1–3 indirect reports
Ensure safe execution of electrical isolations and switching procedures
Promote reliability through effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs
What do you need for this role?
Education/Certification (one of the following required):
Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate, OR
Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, OR
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial facility
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance practices
Experience with low- and high-voltage systems (120V–138kV), including:
Power generation
Substations
Electrical distribution systems
Electric motors
Working knowledge of:
CSA Z462 (Workplace Electrical Safety Standard)
Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
Ability to interpret and utilize engineering drawings for troubleshooting and planning
Proficiency with SAP, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite (considered an asset)
