We are seeking a Prior Authorizations and Referrals Specialist II to join our Referrals Team. In this role, you will manage insurance referrals and authorization processes, verifying coverage, obtaining required approvals, and confirming patient financial responsibilities. You will coordinate with patients, insurance carriers, and care teams, while accurately documenting referrals, communications, and actions in the EMR and distributing required forms and notifications.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with referring physician offices to ensure timely and appropriate completion of referrals.
• Ensure prompt and accurate addressing of referrals.
• Review and communicate referral details and expectations with patients.
• Effectively communicate about the EMR system
• Possess basic knowledge of insurance information (e.g., HMO vs. PPO) and insurance classes to provide clear and accurate information to patients.
• Ensure the information in all outgoing calls regarding the patients' preferred in-network provider is accurate.
• Ensure that all necessary information is included with all Referral requests.
• Assist in sending Athena fax requests to specialist offices.
• Assemble information concerning the patient's clinical background and referral needs and provide appropriate clinical information to specialists, per referral guidelines.
• Demonstrate effective communication, decision-making, and organizational skills to ensure efficient job performance and success.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of prior authorization, referral coordination, or managed care experience.
• Working knowledge of insurance products, payer authorization requirements, and EHR systems.
• Ability to manage multiple open cases simultaneously with accuracy under moderate supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for patient, provider, and payer interactions.
• Experience with authorization management platforms preferred.

Compensation Range:

$19.00

to

$28.50

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
