The Position
The Referral Triage Coordinator plays a critical role in our life-saving mission. Working in a collaborative call center environment, the Referral Triage Coordinator talks with family members of the donor and healthcare professionals to ensure medical suitability for donation. Success at improving or saving lives hinges on collaboration and stellar customer service. You’ll partner with hospitals, donor families, internal departments, transporters, and other community members to ensure optimal outcomes for tissue donor families and recipients. This is an excellent position to learn about the organization and a springboard to other opportunities in the future.
What You’ll Do

  • Collect hospital and patient information and pre-screening criteria on all incoming donor calls
  • Obtains and enters accurate referral information into the referral database
  • Conducts conversation with appropriate family member to accurately compile the donor’s social and medical history
  • Obtain Donor Risk Assessment Interview (DRAI) over the telephone and compile hospital medical records into the electronic record system
  • Navigates through electronic medical records and the ability to understand and connect complex medical history
  • Screens potential tissue donor with appropriate processor for suitability
  • Communicates with Funeral Homes, Hospitals, and Medical Examiners/Coroners to ensure timely release of potential donors

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in a medical environment or emergency response role required
  • A background in and understanding of medical terminology
  • Ability to navigate various EMR systems

Schedule: Weekend nights -three 12-hour shifts. (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 6pm- 6am Training Schedule would be Monday- Friday regular business hours for 4 to 8 weeks
