Job Description

Help military beneficiaries access the specialty care they need within a structured healthcare environment where accurate referral management, patient communication, and coordinated administrative support contribute to timely, high-quality care.

At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. You'll use your healthcare administration experience to coordinate specialty care referrals that help military beneficiaries access timely medical services. Working alongside healthcare providers and administrative teams, you'll coordinate referral workflows, communicate with patients and specialty clinics, and help ensure referrals move efficiently from initiation through completion while supporting continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage specialty care referral workflows from initiation through completion while ensuring referrals are processed accurately, documented appropriately, and completed within established timelines.
  • Review referrals for administrative accuracy, verify patient eligibility, obtain required documentation, and coordinate specialty care appointments in accordance with established referral management processes.
  • Communicate with patients, providers, specialty clinics, and healthcare teams regarding referral status, appointment scheduling, required documentation, and pre-appointment instructions.
  • Track referral activity, maintain accurate referral records, obtain and process Clear Legible Reports (CLRs), and ensure referral documentation is completed accurately and within established referral management requirements.
  • Utilize military healthcare information systems including CHCS, AHLTA, Referral Management Suite (RMS), HAIMS, and other authorized applications to manage referrals, update patient information, and maintain accurate records.
  • Support referral reporting, workflow monitoring, customer service activities, and continuous coordination that helps improve patient access to specialty care.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience providing administrative or customer service support in a fast-paced professional office environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of healthcare administrative experience within an inpatient or outpatient healthcare setting during the past three (3) years.
  • Experience supporting healthcare administration, referral management, patient access, or medical scheduling.
  • Familiarity with military healthcare systems, TRICARE, CHCS, AHLTA, MHS GENESIS, Referral Management Suite (RMS), or comparable electronic health record systems.
  • Experience coordinating communication between patients, providers, and specialty clinics.

Additional Information

This role requires successful completion of applicable background screening, credentialing, and onboarding requirements prior to employment.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
