Works under the supervision of the office manager. Primarily responsible for the scheduling of patient appointments with specialists, scheduling tests at appropriate facilities, coordinating completion for insurance mandated referrals and authorizations in a timely fashion prior to the date of service, updating patient chart records with necessary referral information, flagging and faxing appropriate medical records, contacting patients via telephone and communicating appointment preparation details.

What you will do

• Obtains insurance prior authorizations prior to date of service to ensure quality patient care. Insurance is verified and estimates are obtained. Reports any potential compliance concerns to sleep supervisor.
• Keeps up to date on referral criteria by reviewing updates from insurance carriers and attending training. Recommends to office manager any process improvements needed to improve quality of service. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Estimates are calculated and patients are contacted, prior to date of service, and estimates provided. All communication is documented in iCare. Estimates are documented in iCare.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)

Experience

• 1 year Medical office experience (Required)
