Working/Functional Title

Referral Coordinator

The Flint Registry, under the direction of Dr. Nicole Jones, seeks to hire a Research Technologist II (working title: Referral Coordinator) with the Flint Registry. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-designated public health authority, the Flint Registry’s ( https://www.flintregistry.org/) goal is to connect people who were impacted by the Flint Water Crisis to resources and programs that serve to minimize the effects of lead on their health while promoting wellness and recovery. This position will be based in Flint, Michigan.

The Research Technologist II will support the referral process to the Flint Registry.

Duties will include:
-Collects and compiles referral data for reports, presentations, publications, and community dissemination
-Secondary representative to present referral process updates to internal and external stakeholders, including community partners, as appropriate,
-Collaborate with Referral Manager to survey review process including assignments
-Assist Data and Research and Evaluation team with data analysis for a variety of project deliverables
-Assist Referral Manager in oversight of team resources and benchmarks
-Perform reviews of surveys and referrals for data quality
-Enter data from surveys into an electronic database
-Support the implementation/administration of research driven community engagement and manage the community process
-Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge normally acquired by completing a four- year college degree program in public health, health policy and management, social or behavioral sciences, or environmental health ; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience performing basic research techniques specific to the area of research employment such as: Tissue Culture, Analytical Research, Molecular Biology, Agriculture, Social Science, Physiology, Medical Research, etc., including the use and calibration of related equipment; word processing, spreadsheet; database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R)
• A desire to learn new techniques and approaches and to pursue professional development.
• Familiar with the Flint Community/Flint water crisis/Flint Registry project.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintain the privacy of sensitive information.
• Experience with REDCap software and entering data into online software
