Position Summary:
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for accurately routing incoming referrals and related documents within the electronic medical record system (NextGen). This role ensures documents are properly attached to the corresponding patient chart and coordinates patient scheduling in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Accurately create and route document batches while verifying patient charts in the system
• Complete all required data entry accurately and efficiently
• Access payer portals to retrieve incoming, pending, and completed referrals
• Verify and identify various document types within the system
• Enter accurate service data from routed documents
• Process a minimum of 800 or more documents daily
• Verify referral details and contact patients to schedule appointments according to referring provider instructions
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA patient confidentiality regulations
• Promote a professional and respectful work environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Qualifications:
• 2–3 years of experience in a medical clinic or office setting required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Referral Coordinator required
• Prior dermatology experience required (including cosmetic and/or Mohs procedures)
• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills
• Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute with 90% accuracy
• Proficiency with computer systems and EMR platforms
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)

Equipment Used:
