Job description

The Senior researcher will offer support on both the ATTClimate project and the VEARLYDEM project. The ATTClimate project, formally hosted by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, investigates how Spanish citizens form their opinions about climate change and the public policies designed to address it. The VEARLYDEM project aims to understand the political behaviour during early democratic periods, with the Spanish Second Republic (1931-1939) serving as a case study.

The RA will develop several tasks, mainly quantitative, to support the aforementioned projects.

Main tasks: The main tasks for the researcher will be:

1) To clean and analyse aggregate - and individual-level data.

2) To support the PI and the research team designing a survey, and survey experiments.

3) To support the PI and the research team in liaising with the survey company

4) To support the PI and the research team in designing and implementing a field experiment.

5) To support the research team with additional clerical or admin duties.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any field (preference for social sciences).
  2. High level of fluency in written and spoken English.
  3. Advanced knowledge of R, and/or Quarto.
  4. Experience working on topics related to climate change.
  5. Experience working on surveys, and preferably panel data.
  6. Be meticulous and able to work with large datasets in a quite autonomous way.
  7. Attention to detail.

Terms and Conditions of the contract:

Group: 2q

Full Time Position: 35 hours per week

Gross annual salary for a 35 hours contract is: 35 029€ approx,

Job Location: Barcelona, Catalonia.

Type of Contract

Indefinite according to the provisions of article 23 bis of the Llei 14/2011, from the 1st of June, of science, technology, and innovation.

The labour contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

The estimated start date is the 8th November 2026. The expected duration of the tasks is 3 months, but it could be extended if both parties agree and there are more tasks to be done.
