Working on a rotation of 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, 10 hour shifts, with all travel paid. The wage is $36.40/hour.

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter to join our team in Resolute, NU. The Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter is responsible for construction, repairs, restores, and installs structural wood/steel work and related materials.

Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; builds and installs door and window framing
• Build wooden/steel structures such as partitions, building, office additions, does sheeting and rough carpentry on the buildings as well as final finishes
• Perform hand and bench work in carpentry work shop; operate planers, joiners, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery
• Repair and maintain hand tools, saws, and other carpentry tools; installs locks, door knobs, and other building hardware
• Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; build and install door and window framing
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in Carpentry is required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience, specifically in building maintenance
• Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required
• Good mechanical skills and understanding of building components and equipment
• Good communication, customer service and teamwork skills
