Job Description

Job Title: Recycle Technician
Location: AZEK Company/Return Polymers, Wilmington Division, Recycle Facility
Schedule: B Crew (6:45PM-7AM) Rotating 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 schedule.
Pay: $22 per hour
Reports To: Recycle Production Supervisor

We are seeking a highly energetic and motivated Recycle Technician to join our team at the Recycle Facility. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong physical capabilities, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to operational excellence. Performance will be assessed based on safety and quality standards, efficiency in core responsibilities, and contributions to team goals.

Key Performance Objectives

1. Safety and Compliance

  • Performance Metric: Achieve 100% adherence to safety protocols with zero accident reports related to personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment handling.
  • Expectation: Consistently wear and utilize PPE correctly. Perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering large equipment, safely. Pass a physical abilities test to confirm capability.

2. Operational Efficiency

  • Performance Metric: Meet or exceed 95% of shift operational goals.
  • Expectation: Start, operate, maintain, and shut down equipment accurately per operational standards. Ensure equipment performance aligns with specifications and address any deviations promptly.

3. Workplace Organization and Methodologies

  • Performance Metric: Demonstrate 100% adherence to workplace organization methodologies such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 6S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
  • Expectation: Complete daily duties in accordance with TPM and 6S methodologies to maintain an organized workspace and implement improvements.

4. Quality Control and Documentation

  • Performance Metric: Achieve a 98% accuracy rate in completing Quality Check paperwork and Production Operator reports.
  • Expectation: Complete Quality Check paperwork on schedule and accurately document production data and work orders.

5. Process and Equipment Maintenance

  • Performance Metric: Resolve 90% of process and equipment defects through effective troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Expectation: Diagnose issues promptly, perform minor repairs, and document work orders for major repairs. Assist Maintenance personnel as needed.

6. Team Contribution and Flexibility

  • Performance Metric: Achieve a 95% or higher satisfaction rating from team members.
  • Expectation: Contribute positively to team goals and demonstrate flexibility in work schedule and duties.

7. Physical and Environmental Adaptability

  • Performance Metric: Exhibit a 100% compliance rate in adapting to varying temperatures and standing for full shifts.
  • Expectation: Perform tasks efficiently in varying conditions and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an extrusion processing environment preferred, with demonstrated experience in extrusion processes and equipment.

  • Skills:

    • Proven knowledge of extrusion processes and equipment operation.
    • Strong decision-making, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
    • Basic computer skills for data input.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Attributes: Self-directed, motivated, able to multi-task, and willing to share responsibility and accountability.
